QDT" when you sneaked off to your room at Montreal!

He doesn't know it yet, but there's 2 little things specially for him
in Launchpad too. Not forgetting the classic accidental one in an
early test version where the name DARREN or BRANAGH (forgot which, was
fixed weeks ago) used as a login or password screwed up the name
encoding algorithm for passwords. Hint, Darren, you can find one of
them by loading launchpad into an editor and searching for your name
(assuming I haven't taken it out and forgotten about it!)

After all this time we've both spent working on related but very
different projects, I'll look forward to being able to compare
products one day when they're both finished!

Re: [ql-users] QDT : Program Recognition assistance request

2002-12-04 Thread James Hunkins

Thanks, Per.

Will add the native QL programs. I think that I have XChange in my
database but will double check. Qpac 1 and 2 are set up as hot keys on
my system but I will look at them to see about stand alone.

By the way, just in case anyone misunderstood the purpose of this
database, it is used during QDT to install to preset up icons for
programs found on the user's system. Of course you will be able to
add, delete, and move program/icons around as needed at any time.

I will also have a hot key display/editor which eventually will merge
into the QDT install.

No. All will run from a simple EXEC or EXEC_W command. Some programs
(e.g. the Viewer and MiniView programs) will accept a filename as a
parameter and start by loading that file, e.g. to be called from
FIleInfo 2 or similar,e.g. EXEC FLP1_VIEWER_OBJ;'FLP1_TEXTFILE_TXT'
but none has a compulsory command line parameter.

That's OK ... you've done the work.

Your pointer driven programs would benefit from a review of their style

is now some inconsistency in choices, etc.
