Disk Quota+Qmail
Dear All ! I have Redhat 5.2 with Qmail as the MTA. Each user of the system has limited disk quota. When I send mails to any user whose quota is finished, Qmail just loggs "Temporary Deferral on Mail Delivery" and the mails just remains on queue. I want the mails to be bounced back to the sender. My /var/qmail/control/queuelifetime is set to 2 days. I epected the mail to be bounced back after 2 days, but didn't worked. Please suggest !! Shashi
Disk Quota & Qmail
Dear All, I have Redhat 5.2 with Qmail. I have enabled quota and it works fine, except for the fact that mail send to the user doesn't bounce back to the sender. The user also doesn't get the mail as Qmail just records " Temporary Deferral in Maildir Delivery" in its log. Can you please point to me on how can I use disk quota with qmail ? Another question is what is practically good ? use disk quota or force databytes ? Please guide. TIA Shashi

Serial Mail
Dear All, I use Redhat 5.2 with qmail as the MTA. I am using the AUTOTURN feature from serialmail-0.75 for on of my clinet who uses Win NT Exchange Server. For About a week, everything worked fine, but now it is not working. Maillog shows that the mails are the mails are handled by autoturn and autoturn delivers it to the specied directory: /var/qmail/autoturn/ip.add.res./new/ When the client sends mail, it is successful. But instead of our server initiating an smtp connection back to the client and sending mail, it does nothing. Why is this happening ?? Another question is are there any special logs ?? I mean where are the logs ?? Any suggestions or suggestions to RTFM will be appretiated, if that is in the Manual. Shashi

Eudora? Outlook?
Hi, In one of my mail server, I am using radchkpasswd. One thing strange to me is that only Eudora can collect mails from that pop server whereas Outlook and Netscape mails cannot. I can telnet in at port 110 and use the normal user, pass, uidl, and dele commands. Is it a problem with radchkpasswd or with some settings with outlook ?? Does it makes a difference to these programs if the home directory is something other than /home/userhome ?? Thanks in Advance , Shashi
Mail Server without password entry
What steps must I take in order to set up a qmail mail server (smpt and pop3) that resides on a Linux box that doesn't contain all of the users in the local passwd file? I believe I can authenticate the POP users remotely via RADIUS and checkpasswd, but will the same be true for the smtp connections and deliveries? I apoligize if this seems like a novice question. Thanks in advance. Shashi

Spamming - HELO linux.remotefirewalls.com.
Dear All In the past few days, One of my server is being flooded. The from and the to address is of my own domain so I cannot put that in badmailfrom. Looks like someone is trying to flood our servers by sending a lot of junk mails. As per the example below, the only thing that is common is HELO linux.remotefirewalls.com. How do I stop receiving mails via such domain. Writing to the postmaster there might take a long time and the servers might change. I am using qmail 1.03 and Redhat Linux 6.0. Re: Quotas and qmail: file number
Please go to the qmail site and use mailquotacheck.sh [perl script] It works great and is very simple to implement Shashi - Original Message - From: Wolfgang Baumgartner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, December 30, 1999 2:36 PM Subject: Quotas and qmail: file number > Is there a patch to qmail, with which I can send > a permanent error instead of a temporary error when > the number of files in the Mailbox exceeds the allowed > number of files (quota).
