Re: SOMEONE GET ME OFF THIS LIST
To all of the sarcastic geniuses on this list I'm using lotus notes, via a web interface at the moment, and I CAN NOT (READ THAT AS A BIG DIFFERENCE THEN DONT KNOW HOW) look at any header information. I don't appreciate other insulting my intelligence without knowing half the facts. I apologize to everyone else on the list, who has to endure all of this mail traffic, but there are a select bunch on this listserver who choose to act like five-year-olds.Bernie Courtney

RE: SOMEONE GET ME OFF THIS LIST
Here is the problem- I've got about 18 different alias's that all point to one mailbox, and i have no clue which one was used to subscribe as that was about 3 years ago..since we have consolodated mail systems I also now have no access to send mail from any of those alias addresses...Bernie@Sent by: Hubbard, David [EMAIL PROTECTED]01/27/2001 02:01 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: bcc: Subject: RE: SOMEONE GET ME OFF THIS LIST I know this can be very complicated but try sending an email to[EMAIL PROTECTED] from the address you subscribedwith, and this is the qmail list, not a dam list. :-)Dave-Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]Sent: Saturday, January 27, 2001 1:33 PMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: SOMEONE GET ME OFF THIS LISTI have tried multiple times to unsubscribe from this list- I have no cluewhy it has not worked. nmh and qmail
Hello all, I seareched the mailing list archinves and documentation, and couldn't figure out what was going wrong here. I hope this isn't a silly question that people hae asked before; if I've missed something obvious, you have my sincerest apologies in advance. I recently installed qmail on my home machine. All seemed to go well, but when when I try to inc my mail from /var/spool/mail, it thinks for a long time, and then returns this error message: [cme@panzer ~]$ inc inc: unable to lock and fopen /var/spool/mail/cme Interestingly enough, it only does this when I actually have mail- when I don't, it jsut says "No mail for cme". And the plot thickens... I can inc mail if I'm logged in remotely, but not if I'm logged in locally. It doesn't matter if I'm on X or a tty. But I can ssh to localhost and have it work. When I try mail as a starndard for comparison, it works merrily no matter how I'm logged in. I'm running a Red Hat 6.2 box with nmh 1.0 and qmail 1.03. Thank you, Courtney Eckhardt
Re: Slow SMTP
check your DNS setup- if the Qmail box is having problems finding itself in DNS then Qmail will react in the way you described. bern Bernie Courtney Z100 New York Engineering mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

qq write error or disk full (#4.3.0)
Hey everyone, I am getting a message that is telling my "qq write error or disk full (#4.3.0)" This is what the output of my 'df' command shows, so I don't think that it's a disk full issue... Webmin Module
Does anyone know of a module for Webmin that can be used to control Qmail? I am running it under FreeBSD/i386 thanks, Bernie Courtney
Looping followup.
Hey everyone, the message that I am getting is "smtp/tcp server failing (looping), service terminated." Can anyone shed a bit of light on this?? Now I will say that we were running a contest on our WWW page with all the entries (40,000+ e-mails) being handled by the Qmail server...could that have anything to do with it? I did a cold reboot and now it's been fine for about 20 hours.any ideas? I really don't like the idea of having to reboot the machine either- it's been up for 11days thanks for all your help, Bernie Courtney Z100 New York Radio Engineering mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
two questions....
Hey everyone, I've got two more questions for everyone- 1.) I want to write a pearl script to use as the back-end of a web page form, now normally I would reference the location of sendmail (eg. "/usr/lib/sendmail -t") but now that I'm running Qmail, what should I do to get this script to enable it to send outgoing e-mail?? 2.) I am getting a message that prints on the screen of my FreeBSD based Qmail box saying something about a problem with the SMTPD something along the line of a loop or something...ring any bells with anyone?? I am not in front of the box so I can't quote the exact message, but I figure that someone on here must have seen it before...what is it? why am I getting it? how can I make it go away? :-)) thanks in advance, Bernie Courtney Z100 New York Radio Engineering mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Error Message text
hey all- another quick question. Someone once told me that I can customize the text of Qmail error messages (e.g. Sorry no mailbox here by that name- try the hose next door, etc.) is this indeed possible and if so how? Thanks Bernie Bernie Courtney Z100 New York Engineering mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
RCPTHOSTS error
Hey all I just put a new Qmail server online at Z100 Radio in New York city for all of ou listener e-mail (about 500,000 mails/day) and I have everything working except one little thing- when I try and send mail to addresses outside my domain (eg aol.com, mindspring.com, etc. I get an error saying "sorry, that domain is not in my list of allowed rcpt hosts #5.7.1" anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening??? Thanks in advance, Bernie Courtney Z100 New Yok Engineering PS: fist person to help me solve the problem gets a station T-Shirt :-)))
RE: RCPTHOSTS error
and if I am not using TCPSERVER? I just need to get this runing ASAP so an open relay would be fine for the time being, how do I do that?
Re: RCPTHOSTS error
let me also add that if I remove the RCPTHOSTS file, that I can no longer recieve e-mails sent to my local domain. The machine just refuses everything. any more ideas??
