Re: Qmailadmin installation

2000-07-17 Thread Jaren Peterson

If I reinstall QmailAdmin won't I lose all my users, forwards and aliases
that I have set up with the previous installation? If there is a way to
reinstall without losing them I would love to know!

thanks in advance once again.
Jaren
P.S. Sorry bout sending that out saying I was secretary of state before.. I
was trying to prove to my boss that without Relay Control anybody could send
mail saying they were anybody.. :) needless to say, he believes me now and has
let me set it up.

Re: Qmailadmin installation

2000-07-17 Thread Daniel E. Jackson

Once during an upgrade (hardware upgrade) I had to move an existing installation to
another machine. I tar'd up the vpopmail root directory and the /var/qmail/control
and /var/qmail/users directory
and had no problems. One week after the upgrade, we installed a new server to keep a
mirror of the installation for reliability's sake, using the same methods, and it
works well. You still need to
do the initial install of qmail, rblsmtpd, vpopmail, etc but after that...

Alias files

2000-07-17 Thread Jacob Scott

someone said alias's were stored under .alias files, I think. Where
(what part of the vpopmail directory) are they stored in?
/home/vpopmail? /home/vpopmail/domain/user?

Anyone know?

Thanks,

Jacob

manual loss/replacement

2000-07-17 Thread Jacob Scott

I had to reinstall vpopmail and to make a long story short- I have my
/domain/domain.com backed up outside the vpopmail tree. I know i have to
./vadddomain to get the correct line into /qmail/assign. Even after i
do this (and copy the dir back) , qmailadmin doesnt pick up my mailing
lists or aliases. Does this mean qmail wont pick them up? or will it
work fine and qmailadmin is just being annoying?

different look

2000-07-17 Thread Jeff Jones

Has anyone sucessfully put a different look on
qmailadmin? Don't be offended if you created
the look that it has now, I just wondered if it
was real tricky to put a different look on it.

Thanks.

Autoresponder

2000-07-17 Thread Jaren Peterson

Many thanks for all the help getting ezmlm working... it still
doesn't work as I would hope but it will do what we need with a little
tweaking. Now onto another problem :)
I downloaded the autoresponder package from the Inter7 website, I get
several errors when i try to compile it tho. If anyone knows where I can
get a different copy of it please let me know.
thanks
Jaren

'bad file' error

2000-07-17 Thread Ryan Hayle

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

I have installed vpopmail from custom-compiled deb packages (from
Sury), and now am trying to compile qmail admin based on them. I had
to add to the LIBS line of the Makefile: -ldl -lfreecdb, but other
than that, it seemed to compile fine. (Incidentally, I'm using
mysql, not using freecdb). Now when I go to /cgi-bin-qmailadmin, I
log in, and get a 'bad file' error. Not sure what this means.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan Hayle
