This was fixed with the later versions of vpopmail-4.9.5 and
in the current vpopmail-4.9.6. In conjunction with the latest
qmailadmin 0.39

That's how it works. It will start listing accounts that start with
the letter "a" and will fill up the page. It does not restrict itself
to display only accounts that start with "a".

I didn't know this feature existed. It opens the possibility to random
people on the net unsubscribing you from a list.

Re: More broken links

2000-11-21 Thread Ken Jones

I'm going to change it back to the old way, setting the ownership
to vpopmail / vchkpw.

It only needs root (system) permission if you are adding vpopmail
domains under a non vpopmail uid/gid

I could see adding this feature to vqadmin.
We will be releasing it shortly.

vqadmin is designed for tech support staffs at ISP's. It uses
the same vpopmail libraries, but uses the httpd .htaccess type
access method. And a configuration file to list multiple admin
accounts with different levels of control.

This is exactly what vqadmin does.
Here is the basic idea

1) You have a support staff that answers users questions about
mail, passwords, etc. They need to be able to lookup a user
and change thier password if needed. Also set user attributes
   such has quota and features.

2) There is a smaller group of more experienced technical staff.
They need to be able to add new virtual domains.

3) All of the support and technical staff need to be able to
access vqadmin at the same time (hence the .htaccess type
   authentication)

What would be interesting to add would be your mail listing
feature and mail reading feature.

>From my experience as tech support, there are many times a
person called up saying they couldn't access thier mail
and have been waiting for a critical piece of email.

We have had many reports that the moderator functionality of
qmailadmin 0.39 does not work.

As of yet, there is no fix.

2000-11-21 Thread Ken Jones

For those folks who are having problems with moderated
mailing lists...

Check over your configuration options. Make sure you
set --enable-ezmlmidx=y

Otherwise, it doesn't use the ezmlmidx code.

I'm going to update the next release to assume ezmlm-idx
by default. Currently the default is not to use ezmlm-idx.

Not really. When you send an "unsubscribe another address" request, a
confirmation request is sent to the "other address". So, unless you have
control of the "other address" then it is not possible to unsubscribe
another person arbitarily.

Qmailadmin + Vpopmail 4.9.5 + mysql

2000-11-21 Thread Dino Ming

Hi,

I have to setting up a vpopmail ,
qmailadmin and qmail.. those are installed pretty.

I have also compiled vpopmail to auth
with mysql, by using vconvert command, all the user login/password was imported
into mysql porperly. But now, if I change the use login password, or add a new
user in qmailadmin.  mysql won't do the update for me. So, I need to
manually perform the ./vconvert command..

Is there away to make qmailadmin
update the mysql table automatically when a new user was added ?
