Re: [qmailadmin] moving qmail from one server to another
Read the mailing list archive. This question has been answer a lot of time. Regards. Il 12:46, mercoledì 3 dicembre 2003, Ulrik S. Can't find any guide on the net on how to do this! Does anyone know of such a guide/howto page? I guess I have to do a dump of /var/qmail, but how much from the old box should I restore on the new ? just /var/qmail/domains ? and the vpopmail database data should be updaded with the data from the old box too, but what else is needed ? thanks Ulrik -- Davide Giunchi
RE: [qmailadmin] moving qmail from one server to another
Sometimes answers like this are really annoying. Apparently you know where to find the answer but are not willing to give any additional information. For 50% of the questions asked on this mailing list the answer is out there in some way so you could get a lot of responses sod of the answer is somewhere. What's the big issue in pointing out where the information is? Probably I can answer that question for you: sometimes an archive gets so big it is difficult to find something back that has been answered previously. So please give a proper answer if you are really interested in helping people. hi I'm moving my mailserver to a new box, and I installed qmail, vpopmail+mysql, courier-imap, vqadmin, qmail adminn (and more), everything seems to work fine, but now I have to move all domains and accounts from the old box to the new. Install new system on other machine. Dump mysql data from machine and import to other machine, also move /home/vpopmail/domains to new machine. (remember to keep permission + ower group) -- Eero

Have your PHP script run ezmlm-make. Read the man page for ezmlm-make to learn how to use it. The reason you can't find docs for ezmlm on the Inter7 site is that it's not an Inter7-maintained program. Google search on ezmlm-idx for more info. The site www.ezmlm.org has good info, but is usually down. -- Tom Collins - [EMAIL PROTECTED] QmailAdmin: http://qmailadmin.sf.net/ Vpopmail: http://vpopmail.sf.net/ Info on the Sniffter hand-held Network Tester: http://sniffter.com/

Eero Volotinen sagde: Install new system on other machine. Dump mysql data from machine and import to other machine, also move /home/vpopmail/domains to new machine. (remember to keep permission + ower group) That was exactly what I already did do, except I used dump/restore instead of tar. What I didn't know and just found out by trying, is that I had to go and add the domains one by one in vqadmin (isn't there and easier way?), and then all the accounts poped up and worked as they should. Seems that I have a problem with the mail lists in qmailadmin, after the move, I can't add new lists and existing lists look very strange in qmailadmin when I choose Show Subscribers, and if I click a link on that strange page I get this error: Error. Domain was not found in the assign file it is the same problem with list stored in mysql and non-mysql lists. any hints ? brgds /usk

I get this error: Error. Re: [qmailadmin] Mails Bouncing...
This ought to be a FAQ, but this is usually because there is no reverse DNS entry for your mailserver. Read here for more info: http://www.dnsstuff.com/info/revdns.htm Use dig or this site to do discover lots of dns information: http://www.dnsstuff.com/ There are likely other resources out there if you google it. BTW, you may have to work with your ISP/datacenter on this issue. -- rob Clear DayHi There, I 'm facing a problem. But some domains are being blocked in the qmail itself. And we can release from that. Any idea where to do that? - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Jobish - S2L [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, December 03, 2003 7:42 PM Subject: Re: [qmailadmin] Mails Bouncing...
