Re: Error creating short domain in mysql big table
You might want to try updating to the latest version of the software before logging a bug report as chances are it's been fixed in the latest version and most developers do not fix old code. =) (Plus I seem to have a recollection about this being mentioned already) Cheers, Tren. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - Tren Blackburn - Ownermailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] = = End of Time Networks http://www.theendoftime.net - - (403) 269-2122 = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- On Tue, 17 Apr 2001, elbetech.at Support wrote: Hello there, i found a bug in vpopmail 4.9.9: please try to add "vadddomain 0e3.at" ! this domain i can´t add to the big table layout :-(( a domain "1way2.net" was okay, but not 0e3.at (it´s 0 not O!) Migration from one server to another
Hi Everyone; I am moving from my trust old RS/6000 platform (which though solid, is starting to show it's age in more ways than one) to a new Linux machine I've setup. However, is there any way for me to export all of my vpopmail settings? I have vpopmail+mysql on this server. I've installed mysql on my new server, but is there any way that I can just dump in the existing mysql tables and have them work? Can I do an export/import? Has anyone tried something like this before? Thanks in advance for the advice, Tren. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - Tren Blackburn - Ownermailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] = = End of Time Networks http://www.theendoftime.net - - (403) 269-2122 = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Problems with VPOPMail 4.9.7
Hi everyone; Well, after hours of testing, I've determined this problem to be on the VPOPMail side. I am migrating from an AIX platform to Linux. I exported the data from the MySQL 3.22.32 on AIX with the command mysqldump -p vpopmail vpopmail.dump. I then installed MySQL 3.22.32 on Linux 2.2.16 (RedHat 7) and imported the database with mysql vpopmail -p vpopmail.dump. I then tar'ed up the /home/vpopmail/domains structure from the AIX box to the Linux box. This all seemed to go just fine. Now, the problem that I'm having is I wanted to test authentication. So, telnet localhost 110, enter the user%domain and password: [root@isis /root]# telnet localhost 110 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to loopback. Escape character is '^]'. +OK [EMAIL PROTECTED] USER test%test.com +OK PASS test -ERR authorization failed Connection closed by foreign host. Now, if I go into the ~vpopmail/bin directory and run vpasswd on test%test.com and change the password to test2 for example: [root@isis /root]# cd ~vpopmail/bin [root@isis bin]# ./vpasswd test%test.com Please enter password for test%test.com: test2 enter password again: test2 [root@isis bin]# telnet localhost 110 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to loopback. Escape character is '^]'. +OK [EMAIL PROTECTED] USER test%test.com +OK PASS test2 -ERR authorization failed Connection closed by foreign host. Now, I have gone into the MySQL console as I did the change of password and saw that it was indeed changing the password: mysql select pw_passwd from test_com where pw_name="test"; +---+ | pw_passwd | +---+ | K5quUNHql83zk | +---+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) (This was with the test password. I then change it with the vpasswd command to test 2) mysql select pw_passwd from test_com where pw_name="test"; +---+ | pw_passwd | +---+ | xflmRFjDlKQNQ | +---+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) So it is updating the password. And for the real annoyance, if I just add a new domain (blah.com in this case) I can authenticate just fine. [root@isis bin]# telnet localhost 110 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to loopback. Escape character is '^]'. +OK [EMAIL PROTECTED] USER blah%blah.com +OK PASS blah +OK LIST +OK . mysql select pw_passwd from blah_com where pw_name="blah"; +---+ | pw_passwd | +---+ | F7gb4/VIQPuI. | +---+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) I have no idea why this is happening. I guess I can delete and re-enter all of the domains on my server and re-enter every single user, but I'd prefer not to do that. Why can I not authenticate on the domains I imported? I apologise for the length of this post, but I wanted to make sure I included all information. Thanks in advance, Tren. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - Tren Blackburn - Ownermailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] = = End of Time Networks http://www.theendoftime.net - - (403) 269-2122 = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Problem with qmailadmin
Hello List; I reported this bug about 6 months ago and never got a response. I have since upgraded to the latest versions of vpopmail and qmailadmin. Whenever I attempt to add a new user to a domain with no mailing list defined, it will bomb with the error "out of memory" I tracked this down to being in html_text in /usr/local/share/qmailadmin/html/en/html_text which is an error it prints out when the cgi returns a value of NO_MEM. I dug through the source and found NO_MEM only being set in user.c. This is the function that is causing problems: GetValue(TmpCGI, c_num, "number_of_mailinglist=", MAX_BUFF); num = atoi(c_num); if(!(mailingListNames = malloc(sizeof(char *) * num))) { fprintf(actout, get_html_text("NO_MEM")); exit(0); } else { for(cnt = 0; cnt num; cnt++) { if(!(mailingListNames[cnt] = malloc(MAX_BUFF))) { fprintf(actout, get_html_text("NO_MEM")); exit(0); Now, the problem is that I am *not* a c programmer, so if someone wants to help me figure out what's going on, that would be great. Platform/Software specifics: O/S: AIX 4.3.3.0 C compiler: gcc 2.95.2 qmailadmin 0.39 vpopmail 4.9.5 Also, another issue that I've noticed is that when trying to add a mailing list after I've configured qmail admin with the --enable-ezmlmidx=y flag, it will tell me it added the mailing list, but when I try to view it, nothing shows up (ezmlm 0.53 and idx 0.40 installed in /usr/local/bin/ezmlm) If I compile it withoug the ezmlmidx switch, I can add a mailing list, but when I try to view moderators (once again, telling me it added the moderator just fine) nothing shows. If someone could help me track down this bug, it would be great, or even help me get more detailed information for the developers. Problem wiht QMailAdmin on AIX 4.3.3.0
Hi All; I have an IBM RS/6000 with AIX 4.3.3.0 installed. I was able to compile qmailadmin with relitavely few problems (is the configure script going to be changed to pick up he location of the mysql libs? I just manually patched the makefile, but it seems like this should be automagically picked up) but when I go in to make a user, I get a nice little error: Out of memory When I click the button to create the user. I looked through the source tree and found it to be happening in program user.c in the section GetValue(TmpCGI, c_num, "number_of_mailinglist=", MAX_BUFF); num = atoi(c_num); if(!(mailingListNames = malloc(sizeof(char *) * num))) { fprintf(actout, "Out of memory"); exit(0); }else { for(cnt = 0; cnt num; cnt++) if(!(mailingListNames[cnt] = malloc(MAX_BUFF))) { fprintf(actout, "Out of memory"); exit(0); } It looks like if there are no mailing lists defined, it will blowup with an out of memory message. So, I made a mailing list and then made the user and it worked perfectly. I'm not a C programmer, so I don't know how to fix it, but I can at least track it down! =) Hope this helps and if any more info is needed or a shell account on my server for testing, please let me know.
