RE: [qmailadmin] location of dot-qmail files
The benefit is that I have 1500 vpop domains with each 40 or 50 .qmail-userxxx under the root domain directory. I can't change my configuration. So I want to change qmailadmin :-) Frédéric Leborgne SOGET - Le Havre - http://www.soget.fr -Message d'origine- De : Tom Collins [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Envoyé : mercredi 8 décembre 2004 19:34 À : [EMAIL PROTECTED] Objet : Re: [qmailadmin] location of dot-qmail files On Dec 7, 2004, at 2:17 PM, john bender wrote: This reply is intended for Frédéric Leborgne. I edited qmailadmin to only work on ~vppmail/domains/domain.com/.qmail-user. Be warned that by doing this, 'user' will appear in the list of aliases/forwards. I had considered a patch that would keep the .qmail file and create a symbolic link from .qmail-user. This should work in the latest QmailAdmin, because (I think) I've added code to ignore .qmail-user files that are symbolic links (this prevents QmailAdmin from treating a mailing list alias as an alias/forward). What is the benefit of having the file as .qmail-user instead of just a .qmail file in the user's directory? -- Tom Collins - [EMAIL PROTECTED] QmailAdmin: http://qmailadmin.sf.net/ Vpopmail: http://vpopmail.sf.net/ Info on the Sniffter hand-held Network Tester: http://sniffter.com/

Hi John, I have the same problem! Have you or someone any solutions for this problem? [qmailadmin] location of dot-qmail files
Hello there, I am having a bit of an issue with Qmailadmin creating .qmail files in users' directories when forwards, aliases or away are set. Meaning that Qmailadmin edits ~vpopmail/domains/domain.com/user/.qmail My main qmail installation apparently looks in ~vpopmail/domains/domain.com/ for .qmail-user files. This is a problem since any changes users make to vacation messages and forwards do not look like they are working. Is this a Qmailadmin issue? If so, where can I set Qmailadmin to only edit ~vpopmail/domains/domain.com/.qmail-* files ? Thanks for any info and pointers. __ Do you Yahoo!? Check out the new Yahoo! Front Page. www.yahoo.com

Is this a Qmailadmin issue? it's not an issue, but it is qmailadmin vdelivermail (called from your .qmail-default file) reads those user .qmail files when it's processing the delivery and handles them accordingly. -Jeremy -- Jeremy Kitchen ++ Systems Administrator ++ Inter7 Internet Technologies, Inc.
