I was also using a CPanel solution before moving to qmail toaster.
What we did in a nutshell was made a fake domain, such as
newmail.yourdomain.com, and then made new accounts for everyone on the
new qmail server. This server had the same domain set up on it,
mail.yourdomain.com but also had the fake one as a virtual/alias. You
then gradually move everyone to it by putting forwarders in cpanel so
that all addresses are removed and replaced with forwarders
[EMAIL PROTECTED] -> [EMAIL PROTECTED]

When everyone is moved, updated DNS and let the changes propogate on the
net.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

I will change the website, Erwin's package is indeed Warlord. I have no
idea how I got Warlock on the web page. And, had it there for over a year
and not noticed it.

My apology. I will get it corrected this evening.

Not sure you will find a lot of exim experts in a qmail list. The real
question is can you produce a list of domains, users per domain and
clear text passwords for all of your users?

If so, the migration can be childs play with the use of
vaddomain/vadduser and the command line tools. If not, then you will
have to manually migrate each user manually.

It does not matter that the server supports 64-bit. Since you are
running the 32-bit version of Centos, the processor will never be in
64-bot mode. Install it just the same way that you would for a 32-bit
processor. Nothing special is needed.

You basically did that when you set up:
192.168.2.3:allow,RELAYCLIENT=""
Which with the error you're getting leads me to believe that it may be a
CR/LF issue. I vaguely remember someone else having problems with a
program they were using that sent emails that was using CRs instead of
LFs (might be the other way around) and that's why their server was
kicking the messages.

I don't see anything in the logs about it being blocked, I can only

There are no attachments, just text. These are just messages from our

Okay, this makes more sense. I did something similar with our Nortel
system (instead of buying Nortel's expensive setup). Mine was being
blocked as SPAM, though. I think what is happening is that the message
is coming in in an invalid format, so it's being bounced. Probably a
CR/LF thing. The 554 error is usually a SMTP error.

For my situation, I only had to add a:
whitelist_from [EMAIL PROTECTED]
to my /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf file for it to stop rejecting the
messages as spam. Your situation may even be that you're trying to send
emails without authenticating the SMTP connection. Hopefully some of
that might point you in the right direction.

Is there any way to disable chkuser for some IPs? Could that be done via tcprules?

Re: [qmailtoaster] SPF lookup failure

2006-02-09 Thread Erik Espinoza
$ host -t txt multindo.co.id
multindo.co.id text "Multindo Auto Finance"

The text record that the dns admin of 'multindo.co.id' set is being
misinterpreted for a bad spf record. Your best bet would be to either
go to http://spf.pobox.com/ and run thru the wizard to fix the text
record, or removing the text record entirely.

As the text record in DNS is used by more and more mail servers to
define spf parameters, you will find a growing population of mail
servers that you will not be able to communicate with.

Thanks,
Erik
