[qmailtoaster] Still DomainKeys?

2007-10-08 Thread bb.
Hi,

I know it takes time but documentation is important.

CentOS 5.0 install wiki
("http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/CentOS_5_QmailToaster_Install";)
still says add domainkeys but at somewhere else i
remember that docs says do not run domainkeys until a
fix would be, now which is the updated info and let we
use domainkeys if we have a one server only?

And i think, while how to install is described in
wiki, that is not needed to publish how to install
links on home page (qmailtoaster.com). Maybe write
down a notice only that installation is in wiki,
because 4.3 install and also newer 5.0 install
described in wiki (While we can not see 5.0 link in
homepage).

Thanks to God and to good programmers, people helping
good...

You may try the no sender check talked about earlier for Blackberry to
see if that will allow it through.

Otherwise it may help us to see the path and the header.

So you're getting this error message from someone else? If so you'll
need to contact them, since you will not be able to make any changes to
their system.
If you are sending these messages to someone and want to let the mail
through, you'll need to add a line in your /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp to
allow their email in without being scanned - check the wiki for
instructions.

Duplicates are created when there is a hang in the process somewhere - I
would rebuild and reinstall simscan. It needs to be compiled against
certain packages, and these packages are sometimes installed AFTER
simscan is rebuilt, so it builds against the old files.

You would change your /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp file to match that line.
Once you get it done, type 'qmailctl cdb' to compile the changes, and
then 'qmailctl reload' to make sure they're loaded.

far- only have 1 complaint.
I wrote that wiki page, and then edited it later as a FYI. I went through
all the trouble of turning off the checks for all of Blackberry's MX entries
and unfortunately Blackberry has a couple "ghost" mail servers that are not
listed in DNS. I had a screaming client during the process, so I would fix it
and the next day he would get the above message. I'd find the ghost MX server
and add it telling him it was fixed, and it happened again the next day with a
new ghost machine. After a couple of what looked like "foot in mouth" moments
with my client I threw my hands up and turn off sender checking for the whole
machine.
Those symbols are technically allowed by the RFC, and I could not really see
how they could be used to exploit the system since they're not really
translating to filenames or anything, so I do not see any reason to deny them.
I have been allowing them for a couple months now and have had no adverse
effects from it.
  My 2 cents.

  Friends,

I have a blckberry user who has the complaint of
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 571-'sorry, sender address has invalid format
(#5.7.1 - chkuser)'

I find this in the wiki - ok , that sounds dead on

I keep getting "5.1.0 - Unknown address error 571-'sorry, sender address has
invalid format (#5.7.1 - chkuser)'" errors, especially from people with
Blackberry devices. What can I do?
The sender is using an illegal character. In Blackberry's case they're using
a spam firewall that uses the slash character (/) in the sending email address
when messages are sent from the Blackberry device, regardless of the reply-to
address. To work around this you can either recompile chkuser to allow for the
illegal character, or turn off chkuser checks for their mail servers. Below is
my tcp.smtp file which includes all Blackberry mail servers I have found (a
couple are ghosts, and do not appear in DNS for the record):

204.187.87.61:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",RBLSMTPD="",SENDER_NOCHECK="1"
204.187.87.62:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",RBLSMTPD="",SENDER_NOCHECK="1"

216.9.248.51:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",RBLSMTPD="",SENDER_NOCHECK="1"
