Oddly enough, due to the formatting, self-promotion, and style, this
was the only message from this group ever to be categorized as spam,
and dumped in my spam box.

Funny.

the reason for asking this question is as such is to actually prevent

let us say some spammer gets hold of an email userid and password on

now he can simply authenticate and send thousands of emails with a

example if i create an user [EMAIL PROTECTED] in my outlook/outlook
express
but in the mailserver smtp authentication details i give a valid
emailuser
and password on my server the server allows me to authenticate and
send

email with a from email id : [EMAIL PROTECTED]

i want to prevent this ... ie only domains who are clients on my
server

can smtp authenticate and send thru my server.

now i want a way that qmail-smtp will check a whitelist of domains
after
accepting an smtp-authenticated session to ensure that the from

is some domain on my server not any other third party domain

You look like a spammer. 24x7server.com comes up to a EzyPharma.com
login page. www.ezypharma.com comes up to an online pill-ad site
which
does not provide any address for contact. Performing a whois lookup
shows:

Registrant:
  I am affiliate of RX-Partners.biz
  jl. demak no.27
  antapani kidul - cicadas
  bandung, jawa barat 40291
  ID

I may be stereo-typing, but I spend a **LOT** of time keeping pill
ads

out of my client's mailboxes, and unless you can convince me that you
are not a spammer I'm not going to provide any help. Sorry. Others
may

be a little more open minded than me.

A good start would be following proper syntax for user names - the
'apostrophe' is not a valid character in an e-mail name.

Check between the 'O' and the 'Connor'

That's the offending character.

I think he allready figured that one out.. seeing the topic has the ' in it
..

The wiki can help you here..
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Chkuser

Or just disable the sender address checking by adding SENDER_NOCHECK=1 to
your tcp.smtp file.

[qmailtoaster] Whitelisting only for one domain

2007-12-04 Thread Guillermo Villasana

Hi guys, I need to whitelist some domains for only one of my domains...

I know if I whitelist in /etc/mail/spamassasin/local.cf

whitelist from domain1.com
whitelist from domain2.com
etc.

it will whitelist for all my domains, but I only need this to be done in
one. Can it be done?

Thanks

Returning to spamassasin, is there a way that the end user can create

Hi,

AFAIK you have to setup per user settings. This is usually done by adding
mysql support to spamassassin and then setting GLOBAL defaults, domain
defaults, user settings I recomend you read spamassassin readme and faqs for
more pointers has I haven't implemented this in qmt...

Anyone has more info for Guillermo?

[qmailtoaster] Hello all

2007-12-04 Thread Kyle Quillen
I am trying to setup a qmailtoaster server with spamdyke and am running into
a small issue when trying to receive from a qmailtoaster server that does
not have spamdyke here is the message that I get back.

TLS connect failed: error:140770FC:SSL
routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol; connected to 74.218.24.12.

I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.

Any ideas what would cause this?

Thanks

Re: [qmailtoaster] CHKUSER dropping username with '

2007-12-04 Thread Warren Melnick
That would be incorrect. According to the RFC a single quote is
absolutely a valid email character. Basically every printable
character except for ()@,;:\.[] (of course @ goes in the middle).

Valid characters are:
!#$%'*+-/0123456789=?
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ^_
`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~

This is according to RFC 822.

Regards,
Warren
