Re: [qmailtoaster] duplicate emails

2008-05-18 Thread Peter Peltonen
I'm as well encountering this problem still. It seems to be related
clamd or spamd getting stuck, but I haven't discovered further
details. Restarting qmail resolves the issue for a while. It is very
annoying.

How do I find out which email addresses are causing this? Maybe there
is a pattern related to .qmail files etc as you have suggested

I recently posted a message about this and found a solution but with
 negative effects.

I determined that only one email address was receiving duplicate emails. I
found that by moving that account's .qmail file out of the way the
duplicates stopped. Here's the contents of .qmail:

 |/var/qmail/bin/preline /usr/bin/maildrop -A 'Content-Filter:
 maildrop-toaster' /etc/mail/mailfilter
 /home/vpopmail/domains/boubion.com/dominic/Maildir/

Don't I need this for the spambox I set up?

Memory and server loads are pretty consistent as not much has changed on
this server in recent months so I don't think this is a RAM issue as has
been suggested in other threads. Only odd thing is the timestamp on .qmail
for the user is April 30th. I looked back in my trash can and can easily see
the duplicates started after the file was modified. To be honest I don't
remember what I might have done to modify the file.

It should do, as per RFC.

The last I checked about a year ago (not sure if EE has put any other
patches in since then, I don't see them in the docs) QMT will try and
send the message according to the RFC (selecting priority by availbale
MX records). Where the problem with QMT lies is that if it contacts a
MX record and it answers, it won't retry any others. If the MX record
it contacts gives it a deferral or error, QMT will continue to send to
that MX until it's delivered or it bounces (queuelifetime). If the MX
record it answers does NOT establish a SMTP session then it will move on
the the next MX according to RFC standards.

Was that what you were looking for?

RE: [qmailtoaster] deferral: Unable_to_chdir_to_maildir._(#4.2.1)

2008-05-18 Thread Glen Vickers
I checked the permissions and controllers. Everything checked out fine from
what I saw... same error, something screwy happened, not sure what. Since
there was no mail in the maildir's I just deleted and readded the domains
using vpopmail's command line. Seems to have taken care of it. Got a weird
error though on the first domain I made.

Entry is out of order: domain.com.hostname

Not sure what that's about but mail is going through the queue fine now.

On to the next issue.

Thanks
Glen

Somewhy you are missing users maildir or any subfolders it should have
(cur, new, tmp) in /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/mailuser/MailDir/*
If I say missing I also mean permission denied.
If I remember correctly /home/vpopmail and it's subfolders should be
owned by vpopmail:vchkpw and be accessble by group also.

[qmailtoaster] Weird issue with qmailadmin

2008-05-18 Thread Helmut Fritz
Recently (the last 3 or 4 months) I have been getting a weird error when
attempting operations via qmailadmin. I can log in as postmaster fine, but
when I try an operation is get this text across the top of the window.

Only one person can log in as system postmaster at one time. Someone else
has logged in. Please only have one login at a time.

I then get dumped back to the log in window and log in as postmaster again
and try the same operation again. This does not occur 100% of the time,
probably 75%. If I am persistent, I get it to work. I recently did an
upgrade via QTP-newmodel, but has this error before the upgrade as well. It
did work when I first set the machine up, but after a few months of running
I started getting this error (I only need to make changes infrequently). My
domains all get created with vadddomain nowadays. The initial domains were
created with admin-toaster. I get the error with orignal domains and new
domains.

I found an error in the apache error log that may be related due to the time
of errors (although not sure).

PHP Notice: Use of undefined constant r - assumed 'r' in
/usr/share/toaster/include/admin.inc.php on line 137

There are also other errors that seem to be related to a successful
qmailadmin operation, probably for a separate thread sometime.

Anyone have any ideas? Thx.

Helmut

That's just a warning/info message and can be safely ignored IIRC.

[qmailtoaster] Re: Install qmailtoaster in OpenSuse 10.3

2008-05-18 Thread Jose Mario Pires
Hi,

Forget it... I was being dummy. Apart from some problems with package
dependencies, all went smoothly by following carefully the
instructions and scripts found in
http://www.qmailtoaster.org/old/suse/sus10164/

I'll send some more precise instructions later, when I have time to write them.

SpamAssassin complained that Can't locate Mail/DomainKeys/Message.pm in
@INC (@INC contains:...). I had the same problem in my other
installations. As far as I remember, the problem is that [perl
installation dir]/Mail/DomainKeys directory doesn't exist. However,
that doesn't disable SA from working. I don't remember any more where
I got the .pm files of Mail/DomainKeys; this time I just copied them
from another machine where qmailtoaster is running.
