Dear ClamAV users,

about 15 mins ago we released daily.cvd 10938. This update apparently
caused a segmentation fault in all ClamAV versions older than 0.96
on 32 bit systems.

We just released daily.cvd 10939 which removes the faulty signature and
we have taken measures to ensure that this problem won't happen again.

We recommend using a monitor tool like clamdwatch or clamdmon to
automatically restart clamd whenever it dies.

If you are already using a similar solution, your clamd will be
restarted automatically as soon as freshclam downloads the daily.cvd
10939 update.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

Thanks Sérgio, and welcome to the community.

Dovecot will be used in the v2 release. In the meantime, you can use it 
if you'd like. I believe there is a wiki page about how to do that.


Version 5.5 of vpopmail is presently in beta, and rather than go through 
2 upgrades, we're waiting for the stable version of 5.5 before upgrading.

and as late as February 2010.  At that time consensus was that the
footer did not belong in the mta but in the mail client.

How'd you end up with --enable-many-domains?
What do you need it for?

What do you hate about --disable-many-domains? It still allows multiple 
domains, it just implements them in separate tables instead of lumping 
them all together. Having them in the same table is considered a bad 
practice by many, for reasons I won't go into here.


If you don't really need --enable-many-domains and can live with mutiple 
domains in separate tables, it shouldn't be too hard to convert. Someone 
here could probably help you out, or you might try asking on the 
vpopmail users list.

That's a pretty old version you're running, and logging has improved a
bit since that version. QTP has many improvements as well. I would
strongly recommend upgrading. Which OS version are you running?

If you're on COS4, I would install the qmailtoaster-plus.repo package
(see http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/), then
# yum update
then
# qtp-newmodel
That should bring you up to date on everything.

I'd also recommend installing spamdyke, which is as easy as running the
qtp-install-spamdyke script (in more recent versions of QTP).

perl(Archive::Tar).  maybe run a `sudo yum clean all` and try again?

[qmailtoaster] Issue passing test server in prod.

Hi,

 

I'm not a newbies with qmail and Inter7 software.  I have tree Slackware 12 
Linux installed with many outdated features and libs that I have to upgrade.  I 
need to enable TLS and SSL features on the webmail system, and I found 
qmailtoaster.  Guys, you made a wonderfull job.  However, I experience a 
strange issue that I dont understand.

 

I have install the QmailToaster Server with a CentOS 5.4 Release on a VMWare 
server on my local network 192.168.x.y/26.

 

One the system installed, I create a test.com domain name on the server.

 

Localy with telnet 127.0.0.1 25, I enter my commands and the email is localy 
deliver.

 

Remotly with telnet 192.168.x.y 25, I enter my commands and the email is localy 
deliver.

 

Remotly with Windows Live Mail MUA, I send a SMTP email to this server and it's 
correctly post and get.

 

I move my virtual machine on my prod VMWare Server, flush the iptables rules and

 

Localy with telnet 127.0.0.1 25, no answer from the Mail Server.

 

When I take a look into the Log, I see in the smtp/current the connection and I 
confirm the socket connexion by tail -f.

 

I never receive the 200 - Welcome message.

 

Now what else?

Hello,

You could use a squirrel mail plugin. The only draw back is that the footer
will only be added to mail sent from squirrelmail [webmail].
