Re: [qmailtoaster] Mailing List

2016-04-26 Thread Ed Morrison

HI Eric:

Thanks for the response. This is an announcement only list. It is not
meant for discussions. I have regular announcements that need to be
sent and they need to be out to the subscribers before they hit their
offices or the road. This has been a manual process for me but it would
be a far better service to speed up and automate the process.

Hi Abel:

Thanks for the information. I downloaded the patched qmailadmin rpm but
received these dependency errors:

[root@mail ~]# rpm -Uvh qmailadmin-1.2.16-1.qt.el6.x86_64.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libmysqlclient.so.18()(64bit) is needed by
qmailadmin-1.2.16-1.qt.el6.x86_64
libmysqlclient.so.18(libmysqlclient_16)(64bit) is needed by
qmailadmin-1.2.16-1.qt.el6.x86_64

So I installed the mysql-libs but still get the above dependency error.
Any thoughts?

[root@mail ~]# rpm -qa | grep mysql
mysql-libs-5.1.73-5.el6_7.1.i686
mysql-libs-5.1.73-5.el6_7.1.x86_64

[qmailtoaster] EZMLM Lists

2016-04-19 Thread Ed Morrison

Hi Everyone:

I have qmailtoaster installed using the c6 iso. I used to run the qmt5
iso. One of the big differences I see at least for ezmlm is that the c6
version does not have all the ezmlm management option when creating a
list via the web interface. As such I am trying to create and
announcement only list where only the moderator can post messages. The
list I have now allows all subscibers to post. How do I correct this?
Better yet, how do I get all the web ezmlm management option back?

Thanks,
Ed

I recommend using pdns-recursor, installed on the QMT host. PowerDNS

resolving something, the problem is likely with the target domain's

Hi:

Does anyone have an idea as to the problem?

Sorry to be a pain in the butt, but wanted to make sure everything
looked okay from the top down.

On the sendmail machine, it looks to be sending to 2 different addresses:
ay 20 13:21:27 ftp sendmail[6949]: m4KKLQbD006947:
to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, ctladdr=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (0/0),

Do those accounts actually exist on the QMT machine? I don't know
much about sendmail, so hopefully someone who has experience with
sendmail can chime in.

Is sendmail a requirement? Can I ask what you're trying to accomplish?

No pain Jake. I appreciate the help.

Yes, the accounts exist on QMT. Unfortunately, sendmail is required.
It is for the our web store that is being developed for our new website.

an error of unknown user (see below). Here are my configs. Anyone
see what I am doing wrong?

Toaster:

TCP.SMTP
127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private"

:allow,BADMIMETYPE="",SENDER_NOCHECK="1",BADLOADERTYPE="M",CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT="50",CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT="10",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan"

10.0.2.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",RBLSMTPD="",SENDER_NOCHECK="1",NOP0FCHECK="1"

Linux in general uses the match-bail methodology, so it process the
tcp.smtp file in this exact order:

does a rule match the 127.* IP address?
does a rule match a *.*.*.* IP address? (obviously everything does)
does a rule match 10.0.2.*?

So your 10.0.2. rule is never even being looked at. Move it to the
top of the list and recompile the cdb and see if that resolves it
(no, I didn't really even look at the rest of the message, so this
may not be a total fix for you).

Moving the line to the top of the file made it so that I could not
send an email to outside the domain also. Thinking the problem lies
with the Sendmail config.

Wow. That's totally bizarre.

How many recipients?
Where in the list of recipients is the problem one (ie 7th of 10)?
How are the recipients specified? What combination of To's, CC's and BCC's?

I'm admittedly reaching for some sort of hint here as to why this might be
happening.

The amount of recipients doesn't seem to matter. He could be one of 3
or one 20 and he will not receive the attachment. I can cc him and get
the attachment there. It seems that if he is in a group of people that
are all in the To: field is when does not get the attachment.

That sounds bizarre. When you say the email is sent to a group, do you
mean
a list or just more than one recipient?

More than one recipient

Does it come to multiple people on
the same local server?

Yes, this is all on the local toaster server

Does the sending server send to everyone at the same
domain at once (not what qmail would do - qmail would send it
individually)?

Individually

Are you saying then that this happens all intra-domain, as local mail on the
same toaster? IOW, the sender and all recipients are in the same domain?

That is correct.

vpopmail-toaster is included in the update packages. It appears there
is an order issue here. Anyone know how I correct?

Re: [qmailtoaster] Disappearing Email

2007-04-10 Thread Ed Morrison

Hi Eric:

Sorry this was originally sent in with another thread. Just resent it with
a different Subject.

Anyway, my issue is this; people are not receiving all of their email. It
is random to the users and random as far as not all email is disappearing
without any delivery errors. In addition, some are reporting that they are
not receiving emails to them when they are in the cc or bcc field. These
emails in particular are all internal emails from one staff member to
another.

I was thinking that the problem was with clam but it appears as though I am
already running the latest version which is supposed to have corrected this
issue with a previous version.

I would expect the QMT-ISO to work if the regular CD does.
In any case, I'd try the 'nodma' kernel flag if there are problems reading
the disk, but that's just something to try (I'd be a little surprised if
it
works).

Is the spfrules file a file that toaster creates? The only spf file I
have is spfbehaviorsorry for the nubiness? I do not see that
addressed in the wiki. If the file was supposed to be installed during
the toaster installation, does anyone have idea of what the problem
might be?

This is true. I'm working on that, but the fix is not trivial.

In the meantime, simply do not select djbdns for upgrading, and qtp-newmodel

functionally changed. It only has a new release number to reflect the FC6
compatibility.

Please let me know if you have any probem.

I wouldn't use it. I don't know if anyone's maintaining it or not. If not,

I'd use qtp-newmodel. It's robust and simple. It'll upgrade your toaster to
the latest ones including letting you install from devel if you want. There
is nothing 'manual' to do. It handles everything, including stopping and
restarting qmail at the appropriate points to minimize down time. See
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Upgrading for details.

That said I can not get qtp-newmodel to upgrade my toasters. It fails
on the djbdns installation with conflicts. I believe this was covered
in someone else's post but I do not believe the script has been updated
to resolve this issue.

[qmailtoaster] djbdns and domain keys

  '_domainkey.your-domain.com:o=-; [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Has the new toaster changed so these instructions no longer apply? The

Change /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/run file, adding recordio line
as follows:

exec /usr/bin/softlimit -m 1200 \
 /usr/bin/tcpserver -v -R -H -l $HOSTNAME -x $TCP_CDB -c
"$MAXSMTPD" \

 -u "$QMAILDUID" -g "$NOFILESGID" 0 smtp \
 /usr/bin/recordio \
 $RBLSMTPD $BLACKLIST $SMTPD $VCHKPW /bin/true 2>&1

Stop qmail, start qmail.

Every detail of all smtp sessions will be logged in the smtp log.
Try sending something through the server and see what you get.
Remove recordio and stop/start qmail to stop logging of detail
once you get a sample.
as soon as i do that, and i tail, or cat
/var/log/qmail/smtp/current i get garble from the output, such as:

If it's redundancy, then heartbeat is the easiest. If you need raw

Ed,

I'm presently beginning a venture down this road too (for a client).
The documentation at the Linux-HA (heartbeat) web site

documentation that comes with the package is a little better.

Don't forget the user list,

Not really. This normally falls out of the range of what most of us
will do for free (I for one have set similar up to pay bills). Here's
an article about setting up heartbeat with apache, though. Add in
mysql services to be replicated and you won't be too far off the mark:

It wouldn't take the password I thought it was ( the mysql password)
until I rebooted the server..go figure.

RE: [qmailtoaster] Turning off unneeded services

2006-02-13 Thread Ed Morrison
I'm not very familiar with qmail-toaster myself but it may be possible to
remove the individual services you do not want running from the
/var/qmail/supervise directory. This may cause some errors and someone else
may have a better solution.

chkconfig is close to what I want. It will turn off qmail, but not the
individual services within.

Thanks, Jake, but that's not what I am really looking to do. The
machine is behind a firewall and there is no way to reach it from the
outside at all. I just wanted to shut off POP, IMAP and all of the
other services that are not needed to relay mail.

Quite literally I need no other ports besides 22, 25 and 80 (I use the
web interface to trigger some of the mailings) and I am good with
iptables, but I was thinking more along the lines of literally turning
off a bunch of the services. Perhaps removing the RPMs for
squirrelmail, clamav, spamassassin, etc. if I could figure out which
ones to actually remove.

Try: chkconfig *service* off
