[qmailtoaster] Remote host said: 500 Line too long

2012-01-30 Thread Qmt List
My customers are getting Remote host said: 500 Line too long error
message in bounce messages back to them from my server. Is there a way
to raise the max line length?

I do have a Watchguard firewall that is running a SMTP-proxy but the
line length is set to 1000.

Any tips would be helpful.

Thanks,

Javid

The trac portion of the site is still being rebuilt. The recovery
process is partially out of our hands, so is taking longer than we'd
like. We appreciate your patience with this, and will be taking measures
to prevent such delays in the future.

In the meantime, the qtp yum repo is up and running, so you can get the
packages there.

I would install the qtp repo first:
# rpm -Uvh \
http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/repos/nodist/qmailtoaster-plus.repo-0.2-2.noarch.rpm

Then install QTP:
# yum install qmailtoaster-plus

Or you can get the package directly from the nodist directory.

[qmailtoaster] 571 sorry reached maximum number of recipients for one session. (#5.7.1 - chkusr)

2007-08-24 Thread List Admin
Hello,

One of my lUsers has been getting the following message when attempting to
send to a list of 40 people via outlook:

"Your email message was unable to be sent because your mail server rejected
the recipient.

571 sorry reached maximum number of recipients for one session. (#5.7.1 -
chkusr)"

Now I've looked at the tcp.smtp file and it states:

CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT="50"

Am I wrong thinking that this means that an email message can contain a max
of 50 recipients?

He has tried putting them in the CC box and the BCC box with no success.

Anyone have any ideas how to correct this?

On top of that I am intested in total number of emails sent for June and

Anyone have an idea?

[qmailtoaster] Spam Help

2007-07-31 Thread List Admin
My server is just getting slammed with spam. I wanted to see if anyone could
throw out some pointers or perhaps I am missing something.

1. I recently upgrade to the latest version of QTP. I ran
qtp-sa-update. Now when I run it, it just says "Already installed! Exiting."
Am I suppose to be running something else now?

2. I have spambox enabled via QmailAdmin for each mailbox. All mails
marked as spam are sent to this box for each user. That spam is dealt along
with the next step..

3. On a daily basis I have my users forward non-spam to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and spam to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Every morning my script
moves all mail from each users spambox into the same directory as
[EMAIL PROTECTED] I then run the following command:

--

#!/bin/bash

# Spam Assassin Bayes Training

# Learn spam!

cd /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/spam/Maildir/cur

/usr/bin/sa-learn --spam ./*

rm -rf /home/vpopmail/domains/ domain.com/spam/Maildir/cur/*

cd /home/vpopmail/domains/ domain.com/spam/Maildir/new

/usr/bin/sa-learn --spam ./*

rm -rf /home/vpopmail/domains/ domain.com/spam/Maildir/new/*

# Learn ham!

cd /home/vpopmail/domains/ domain.com/notspam/Maildir/cur

/usr/bin/sa-learn --ham ./*

rm -rf /home/vpopmail/domains/ domain.com/notspam/Maildir/cur/*

cd /home/vpopmail/domains/ domain.com/notspam/Maildir/new

/usr/bin/sa-learn --ham ./*

rm -rf /home/vpopmail/domains/ domain.com/notspam/Maildir/new/*

# Update the Bayes DB

/usr/bin/sa-learn -sync

90% of the time my results are usually as follows:

---

[EMAIL PROTECTED] spam]# ./salearn.sh

Learned tokens from 0 message(s) (0 message(s) examined)

Learned tokens from 86 message(s) (353 message(s) examined)

Learned tokens from 0 message(s) (0 message(s) examined)

Learned tokens from 0 message(s) (0 message(s) examined)

[EMAIL PROTECTED] spam]#

---

This is my process yet still lots of spam gets through unmarked.

Am I missing something here? I now have fake PDFs coming through which are
also causing problems for users.

Can anyone recommend anything on top of what I am doing or perhaps I am
doing something wrong.

Thanks

Thanks for the response , I included =:allow and :deny to my tcp.smtp file
but it rejects all mails coming in from outside.

* Han Boetes blocks sites with no reverse dns. He uses the following
tcp.smtp file. The only thing I would do differently is to set
RBLSMTPD instead of just denying the connection.

127.0.0.1:allow,RELAYCLIENT=""
172.16.11.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=""
=:allow
:deny

[qmailtoaster] POP3 Issue

2007-03-12 Thread list

Hi all.I've been watching the list for some time, and I'm hoping
that
someone here can help me out in a moment of need.

My company runs a qmailtoaster server for about 35-40 domains and as of
this
afternoon, pop3 services just stopped working. Connections can
be made, but
no one is able to retrieve their email. I haven't
changed anything on the
server or any of our networking equipment.
SMTP/IMAP/webmail are still
working fine.

Does anyone have
any suggestions on where I can look to figure out what's
going on?

Thanks for your help!

Hello List,

is there now way to setup a file where to list the extension like

*.exe,
*.bat,
*.wmv

to be blocked automatically and not the byte code?

Cheers

[qmailtoaster] SOLVED Re: [qmailtoaster] Problem with Squirrelmail

2006-02-15 Thread list
Hi everyone,

the problem occured due to webmail not being able to read out the imap folders.
this was caused by the php version. here is the patch for it:

Change webmail/functions/imap_messages.php on line 480

from $value = strtolower(array_shift(split('/\w/',trim($value;

to

$value_tmp = trim($value);
$value_tmp = split('/\w/',$value_tmp);
$value = strtolower(array_shift($value_tmp));

OS: FDR 40 php 5.05

2006-02-12 Thread list
Hi Erik,

there are no errors in the apache log. the current distros is fdr40 with php
5.05.

i am running the exactly the same config on another server. there it is working
fine. even the configtest.php output is the same. THE ONLY difference between
this two servers is the php version. php5.05 <--> php5.04 might that be the
problem?

[qmailtoaster] Urgent! Error 500

2005-12-21 Thread list
Hi again,

something is going mad here :-(. I logged in to the qmail-admin panel and tried
to change a domain, which i have setup up in the vqadmin panel. when i want to
look at the domain details (all other domains work fine) it turns out an error
500.

the log file shows me:

When i look at the syntax of the mysql table (at vpopmail db) dir_control i saw
that this domains has at the cell cur_users the following number: 2147483645
all other domains have a "0" at that cell.

When i looked at the /var/log/qmail/smtp/current file, i saw that nearly all
users are accepted by the server, even if they do not exist

how can i fix that, so that i can make changes at the domain using the
admin-panel...

Ciao
Chris

Hi everyone,

due to the fact that i had some time yesterday evening, i started a vmware with
a clean install (only the ness. packages (last item in list ~990mb) from the
latest fedora core DVD (Version 4)

then i installed the needed packages using the sh file for fdr4 from the
qmailtoaster.com homepage.

The whole install worked fine. Everything is running BUT when i run
spamassassin -D --lint the same problem comes up again. (pls see below) this
was a clean installation. no updates or changes or something else.

could anyone pls also install fdr4 on a test server... ?!

What can we do?

Hi Jake,

thanks for your advice. but the problem was not solved by creating the IP as
Domain.

The installation i am currently running at that server is from october 2005
(packages)

When i run an installation two days ago, this problem does not occure any more.

did u change sth there?

Ciao
Chris

[qmailtoaster] literal format ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

2005-12-13 Thread list
Hi everyone,

perhaps you can help with the following warning message:

WARNING: One or more of your mailservers does not accept mail in the domain
literal format ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). Mailservers are technically required
RFC1123 5.2.17 to accept mail to domain literals for any of its IP addresses.
Not accepting domain literals can make it more difficult to test your
mailserver, and can prevent you from receiving E-mail from people reporting
problems with your mailserver. However, it is unlikely that any problems will
occur if the domain literals are not accepted (mailservers at many common large
domains have this problem).

mail.dcserver2.com's [EMAIL PROTECTED] response:
>>> RCPT TO:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
<<< 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.5.3 -
chkuser)

Have u got the same Problem
(http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=yourdomain)

How can i solve that?

Cheers

please see more about that on this page:

There are some other interesting rules...

Hope this link helps...

Hi Nick,

I had a look at the log file and picked out the following lines:

Dec 06 14:48:44 - SPAM: [EMAIL PROTECTED] score 23.1: Sending message to

Date: Tue Dec  6 14:48:48 2005
From: "uaajzrmksfbr" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

The Point is - what should the output be, if the email is deleted? At the
moment it seems to me, that the server is only "learning"...

Hi Chris,

Take an old email and edit the spam score to 25, "to" your test address,
and save it as test-email. Then do:

/var/qmail/bin/qmailinject < test-email

Look at your /var/log/maildrop/maildrop.log and check to see it is not
deliveres.

Betreff: [qmailtoaster] Spamassassin

Hi All,

We do have some functions in spassassin-toaster ver 3.1.0 that
are not working correctly. Ver 3.0.4 works fine but has a
security hole.

I do have a test box with all the functions working with a CPAN
install of ver 3.1.0. It should not be too complicated to
duplicate this install.

First, remove spamassassin-toaster:

   rpm -e --nodeps spamassassin-toaster
   Be sure that /var/qmail/supervise/spamd is removed also.

Second, close firewall port tcp 783

   Spamassassin needs this closed or it chokes communicating
   on 127.0.0.1:783

Third, install ver 3.1.0 from CPAN:

   Note: If this is the first connection to CPAN, you will have
 to do the setup.

   cd /root
   perl -MCPAN -e shell
   install Mail::SpamAssassin
   quit

Forth, you will find the following files at:

   http://www.qmailtoaster.com/spam-fix/

   spamassassin-init -> /etc/rc.d/init.d/spamassassin  chmod 755
   spamassassin-sysconfig -> /ect/sysconfig/spamassassin chmod 644
   local.cf -> /ect/mail/spamassassin/local.cf (already configured)
   v310.pre -> /ect/mail/spamassassin/v310.pre (already configured)

   Some utilities, in case you screw up like I do :)

   list-perl-mods.pl -> util to show installed perl modules
   remove-perl.pl -> util to remove perl module

Fifth, make it run at boot:

   chkconfig --add spamassassin
   chkconfig spamassassin on
   chkconfig --list spamassassin (should show run 3 4 5 on)
   service spamassassin start

   spamassassin -D --lint

   check the modules that your system is missing to use all
   of spamassassin's filter functions and add them from CPAN
   by the same method as installing Mail::SpamAssassin

Feel free to change local.cf to your liking, I put it up just
so you will have a good place to start.

When you have everything running, you will want to comment the
line in /etc/mail/mailfilter 'cc |"sa-learn --spam"' so you don't
send those messages to sa-learn twice.

The mailfilter will still delete the spam over a score of twelve
or greater.

I hope this helps. This may be the best way to install spamassassin.

Nick

Hi
Riezal,

i have never write the rules for anti spam, can you share how to write the
rules or any document for reference?  Thanks.

I too have those exact emails coming in
because they are not filtered. You might want to try adding more rules that are
relevant to those.

Hi Natalio,

i check the file and it looks like that :

#!/bin/sh
QMAILDUID=`id -u vpopmail`
NOFILESGID=`id -g vpopmail`
MAXSMTPD=`cat /var/qmail/control/concurrencyincoming`
BLACKLIST=`cat /var/qmail/control/blacklists`
SMTPD="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd"
TCP_CDB="/etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp.cdb"
RBLSMTPD="/usr/bin/rblsmtpd"
HOSTNAME=`hostname`
VCHKPW="/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw"

exec /usr/bin/softlimit -m 1200 \
 /usr/bin/tcpserver -v -R -H -l $HOSTNAME -x $TCP_CDB -c "$MAXSMTPD" \
 -u "$QMAILDUID" -g "$NOFILESGID" 0 smtp \
 $RBLSMTPD $BLACKLIST $SMTPD $VCHKPW /bin/true 2>&1

The point ist that i do not acutally now where to turn on the RDNS function?

When I had a look at google, nothing was found considering this topic.

Please let me know which features are neccassary. This might also be a good
idea for the Toaster install ...

Cheers
Chris

[qmailtoaster] Backupmx mixed mode

2005-11-08 Thread list
Hi Qmail Profis ;-)

i am currently in a big dilemma. That means i have a server with qmailtoaster
running absolutely wonderful.

For some domains this server is Primary.

Now i would like to add some domains for which this server is the secondary
one. (the primary one is running postfix)

Instad of creating hundreds of mailboxes again i thought that i could use the
qmail server without the need to create new mailboxes.

is there a way to achieve that?

thanks for your help!
