RE: [qmailtoaster] Diverts mail

2009-07-08 Thread Mahesh Bhat
Hi Eric,

I just added the line nameserver 127.0.0.1 in the resolv.conf file and now
my mails are getting sent and received very quickly. Is that a thing to
worry or to be happy.

Earlier Constantin to me that the Transaction Time was 83.618 seconds - Not
good!

Now its reduced to 2.125 seconds - Good...

Sounds like the list name server is having an issue of some sort. You
can verify that with the dig command if you'd like.

I list the local name server first. See if that doesn't fix you up.

Hi,

I have a fully working qmailtoaster based on CentOS 5.3 created as an OpenVZ
container. I have installed roundcube 0.3 stable and mailman on this
container. If anyone wants the container, I can scrub all my data from it,
and put it up for download, with necessary configuration instructions.

One question though - what's the current situation regarding binary
distributions of Qmail? I heard that it is OK to do so now, but wanted to
check with this list.

Just curious, why would you want to do this?

vmoduser appears to have an option for this (-w flag):

# /home/vpopmail/bin/ vmoduser
vmoduser: usage: [options] email_addr or domain (for each user in domain)
options: -v ( display the vpopmail version number )
  -n ( don't rebuild the vpasswd.cdb file )
  -q quota ( set quota )
  -c comment (set the comment/gecos field )
  -e encrypted_passwd (set the password field )
  -C clear_text_passwd (set the password field )
the following options are bit flags in the gid int field
  -x ( clear all flags )
  -d ( don't allow user to change password )
  -p ( disable POP access )
  -s ( disable SMTP AUTH access )
-w ( disable webmail [IMAP from localhost*] access )
( * full list of webmail server IPs in vchkpw.c )
  -i ( disable non-webmail IMAP access )
  -b ( bounce all mail )
-o ( user is not subject to domain limits )
  -r ( disable roaming user/pop-before-smtp )
  -a ( grant qmailadmin administrator privileges )
-S ( grant system administrator privileges - access all domains )
-E ( grant expert privileges - edit .qmail files )
  -f ( disable spamassassin)
  -F ( delete spam)
[The following flags aren't used directly by vpopmail but are]
[included for other programs that share the user database.]
  -u ( set no dialup flag )
  -0 ( set V_USER0 flag )
  -1 ( set V_USER1 flag )
  -2 ( set V_USER2 flag )
  -3 ( set V_USER3 flag )

I'm not familiar off hand with QControl. If there's an option there, by
all means try it. I expect that it simply invokes the vmoduser command
though.

If this option is not working, please post the problem on the vpopmail
users list (vch...@inter7.com). I expect that Matt there will be helpful.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Re: RES: Re: Disable Webmail

2010-05-26 Thread mahesh . bhat
Hi Eric,

Would there be a way to just block access to mail for certain users from
outside office.

like example#mydomain.com must only access mail within the officeboth
pop3 and imap..and not from outside office.

regards,

Mahesh

What is your previous version of clamav?
Did the rest of your build go through? Do you have an earlier version of
clamav-toaster rpm in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/$ARACH? If you do, please delete
the old rpm.

Don't do rpm -e clamav-toaster.

You should be able to upgrade with just:

rpm -Uhv /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/$ARCH/clamav-toaster*.rpm

just my 2 cents,
if most of the user is located on LAN and/or your company is not in
banking/security/law = just use pop3/smtp,
