[qmailtoaster] Multiple emails from qmail list

2008-11-21 Thread ldwraith
I don't know if this is happening to anyone else. but I have been
receiving 2 or more copies of the same message from the list. For
example the last one sent to the list. I have 6 copies of it in my
inbox. whats up with that?!

[qmailtoaster] RESOLVED 5.5.3 error chkuser

2008-05-15 Thread ldwraith
I believe this is a result of the recient patch I did to the server
but I can't confirm that. I did resolve the chkuser recipient error.

the rcpthosts file doesn't allow wild carded .domain1.com domains, i
had to get specific with it and it worked.

However now none of my users work.
I checked under vuser and they are all there. I checked on the
qmailadmin side, they are all there. Now i'm getting

Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

When emailing anyone on the server. suggestions to look at?

2008-05-12 Thread ldwraith
Atually I think i have an idea of what's
going on.  I have a list of my domains in teh rcpthosts config. I have
it set with wildcards to my domains.  If I set it to accept all
domains it works, however doesn't that create an open relay?  If
so then disabling that rcpthosts file is out of the question./>the domains I have in there arelocalhost/>Servername.domain1.com.domain2.com.domain3.comI also noticed in my locals that I didn't have all my domains in there so I added them as well.  same result however... So i'm thinking that its the rcpthosts file.  Is there something I can do that won't make an open relay but will at least accept email from the outside world?Quoting [EMAIL PROTECTED]:> K I went back and checked my DNS and such.  I didn't build the DNS zone> files for my domain.  I fixed that and the host file and resolv.conf as> well.  None of those files had my new domain in there. Re: [qmailtoaster] changing root password on mysql - effect the toaster?

2007-11-21 Thread ldwraith
To the best of my knowledge you can change the root password and it
will have no effect on Qmail toaster. Qmail uses the EZMLM user i
believe and one other. It uses the root password for initial setup
only. After that you can change it. I have done so on my production
box with no adverse effects.

Quoting dnk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Does the toaster have any dependencies on the mysql root password?
Meaning after I set everything up, can i change it, or do I need to
modify any conf files? I assume the toaster uses it's own mysql user
though for regular operations...

Re: [qmailtoaster] Spamassassin question

2007-09-04 Thread ldwraith

I have it installed on 2 seperate systems and this is where you need to look.

/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf
start there, that's the config for the spamassassin daemon. you'll
have to restart qmail to have it take effect.

Also there is a setting to force simscan which in turn forces qmail
toaster to scan through spamassassin. it is on a previous email to
the list so maybe check the wiki or the website for that. i'd look it
up but i'm not on that machine and can't email out from it for a few
hours.

Quoting [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

I am having trouble with my Qmail Toaster installation. I followed the
instructions and I have a working qmail instalation with the exception of
spamassassin and clamav. When I send myself an email there is no header
information reflecting a scan by spamassassin.

I have also tried viewing the logs with:
tail -F /var/log/qmail/spamassassin/current and there is never any change
in the logs as I send messages.

I have also ensured that "qmailctl stat" shows that spamassassin is
running. I am using a brand new installation of Fedora Core 6. I thought
this might be a simscan issue but I am not finding much info out on the
web for what conf files to view to make sure simscan is getting called
properly. Any thoughts on where to go next?

next i already had a folder on the root called /downloads

cd /downloads
then ./current-download-script.sh
then ./fdr60-deps.sh
then ./mysql-setup.sh
then ./firewall.sh (if you have the firewall running that is.)
then ./fdr60-perl.sh
then ./fdr60-install-script.sh

long and drawn out i know but after i did this and a bit of
babysitting the install script. worked like a champ. you might need
to do a table dump on you mysql for the ezmlm and the vpopmail tables
so they can get properly recreated, then your users are sql based
which seems to be more stable.

hope this helps.

It does install vqadmin but it's now called vqadmin-toaster.

after the script completes there's some tools that get installed
directly to your httpd.conf that you should check out.
it installs squirrelmail, qmailadmin, vqadmin, qmailmrtg, and a few
others that all get an include into your httpd.conf

Quoting Ayesha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

I download the script, open it and I noticed that "vqadmin"
installation is commented, look:

if [ $PROCEED = "y" ]; then
  rpmbuild --rebuild --with $DISTRO $ISOQ
  rpm -Uvh /usr/src/$BDIR/RPMS/$ARCH/isoqlog-toaster*.rpm
fi

#echo ""
#echo "Installing vqadmin-toaster . . ."
#inquire
#clear
#
#if [ $PROCEED = "y" ]; then
# rpmbuild --rebuild --with $DISTRO $VQAD
# rpm -Uvh /usr/src/$BDIR/RPMS/$ARCH/vqadmin-toaster*.rpm
#fi

echo ""
echo "Installing squirrelmail-toaster . . ."

What is that mean? That we don't use vqadmin any more?

I had to do a complete reinstall of the qmail toaster reciently and
i'm running RH fedora 6 as well. i just used the install script on
http://www.qmailtoaster.com/fedora/fdr60/
it did the rebuild and the install for me, I had the same error
message trying a different package but i did get something in my
/var/log/messages telling me it couldn't rebuild.

Try the script and see what happens.

Yep i thought of that, i also forgot that my IP changed on this box as
well. but that didn't make a difference.

I ended up putting the IP address of the machine in the config.php in
the server address part. that worked.

I still can't seem to get everything up and running, so i guess what i'll
have to do is go 1 problem at a time and quit butting heads with the
concrete wall i'm experiencing atm.

so for starters, i can seem to get squirrelmail to allow me to login.
it was working before, now its giving me connection refused. this happened
after those messages about the queue and not being able to send/recieve. so
this is what i see.

I get 111: connection refused. if i shut down qmail doing qmailctl stop and
then do a netstat on 143... nothing shows up so i know it's not some other
daemon trying to hog the port. I check the authlib/current in my logs i see

@400046baa33d1b7077ac INFO: modules="authvchkpw", daemons=5
@400046baa33d1b708b34 INFO: Installing libauthvchkpw
@400046baa33d299410dc INFO: Installation complete: authvchkpw

but no authentication attempt.
all other logs seem fine. any suggestions as where to look on this problem?
i can't seem to find an issue.

I could do that yeah. I dont think i have it configured though. could
you point me to some info on that? i reciently did the updates too so
maybe thats yet another issue. who knows at this point i just need
it running again.

I think i see what you mean now. i google searched the qmt-iso, and
from what i can tell... it's an installer. I already have qmail
installed and working (well mostly) but key pieces refuse to function
properly. 1's the queue and the other is squirrelmail and IMAP. on
the queue i'm getting unable to stat message, queue_repair.py didn't
work. squirrelmail is a bit more elusive since i can't seem to get a
decient message to tell me where the point of failure is.

How many messages are stuck in the queue? You may just need to set the
queuelifetime to a low amount and let it clear out, then change the
queuelifetime back.

There's only 3 at this time. where do i set the queuelifetime? i'm

I've tried to send directly from the box to other domains with similar

here's the tcp.smtp I believe it's correct but not sure. there
wasn't a line in there about my local IP so i copied the 127 address's

this is what i have. something looks out of place to me.

#!/bin/sh
exec env - PATH="/var/qmail/bin:$PATH" \
qmail-start "cat /var/qmail/control/defaultdelivery"

- End forwarded message -

okay I reply with the easiest first
for case #2
/var/qmail/rc should be like this

#!/bin/sh
exec env - PATH="/var/qmail/bin:$PATH" \
qmail-start "`cat /var/qmail/control/defaultdelivery`"

you miss the `
again the `
on the line qmail-start "`cat /var/qmail/control/defaultdelivery`"

for case #1 I dont is it correct or not
but I am also just copy/paste for my local network using 127.

here's mine
127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan",DKQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue.orig",NOP0FCHECK="1",RBLSMTPD=""

i'm at a loss. i've checked all the run files, checked tcp.smtp
and that seems fine. any other ideas? everything else on this box
is running fine except for this so i'm thinking 1 of my configs
might have gotten jacked up somehow.

for 1st error, I think IP 192.168.1.10:25 should be listed on tcp.smtp,
what your's? paste it here
for 2nd error, I dont know why there is line like
"cat_/var/qmail/control/[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
it supposed to be like this to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
please paste your /var/qmail/rc here..

if those error happen ...
if you are using your email client not squirrel?
and what about sending from/to the other domain on the same box (if any) ?

I've tried to send directly from the box to other domains with similar
failures.
here's the tcp.smtp I believe it's correct but not sure. there
wasn't a line in there about my local IP so i copied the 127 address's
config and with some stuff i read online, duplicated. it to allow from
anyone in that range

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private",RBLSMTPD="",NOP0FCHECK="1"
192.168.1.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private",RBLSMTPD="",NOP0FCHECK="1"
:allow,BADMIMETYPE="",BADLOADERTYPE="M",CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT="50",CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT="10",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private",NOP0FCHECK="1"

as for the 2nd file... something doesn't look right. in the rc file
this is what i have. something looks out of place to me.

#!/bin/sh
exec env - PATH="/var/qmail/bin:$PATH" \
qmail-start "cat /var/qmail/control/defaultdelivery"

- End forwarded message -
