I'm not sure how that's going to play out. My impression at this point is
that MM6.44+ is not backwards compatible with the sa-toaster.spec file. I
expect that at some point the sa-toaster.spec file will need to check the
version of MM in order to know which way it needs to do the build. That way
the MM version will be transparent to sa-toaster.

Yes, and no. ;)

We'll have to keep our eyes on MakeMaker. Hopefully there will be a
post-6.44 version that is fixed better than the 6.44 version by the  
time

Yes, and no. ;)

We'll have to keep our eyes on MakeMaker. Hopefully there will be a
post-6.44 version that is fixed better than the 6.44 version by the time
that it's rolled into the base package.

You know what - that's probably what my problem was, then -- I do  
recall that, at one point, I did the CPAN update via CPAN. Yeah, bad  
Harry, bad.
