[Qt-creator] DYLD_IMAGE_SUFFIX and OS X
Hey, I want to be able to see the Qt source code in my debugger. I'm running OSX.5 qt 4.6.3 installed w/ click through installer and Creator 2.01 I have set DYLD_IMAGE_SUFFIX = _debug in: projects->build settings->build environment. This setting is also reflected in the projects->build settings->run settings I have also checked the "Use debug version of frameworks checkbox in run settings. When I run my app in the debugger it still says: Unable to read symbols for "QtGui.framework/Versions/4/QtGui" (file not found). Unable to read symbols from "QtGui" (not yet mapped into memory). Unable to read symbols for "QtCore.framework/Versions/4/QtCore" (file not found). Unable to read symbols from "QtCore" (not yet mapped into memory). And I only see assembly code for Qt functions. Any thoughts? -Willy ___ Qt-creator mailing list Qt-creator@trolltech.com http://lists.trolltech.com/mailman/listinfo/qt-creator

[Qt-creator] The last two weeks in Creator
Hello! We managed to skip last weeks report, so today we have two weeks worth of changes for you: ---++ Generic * Version 2.0.1 was released. See http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/2010/08/25/qt-creator-201/ * Q_ASSERTs and the location of failed testcases can now get clicked in the application output and will take you to the source location referenced. This works only for qmake projects. * New features got documented: * Generic highlighting * Qt Quick Toolbars * New deployment options * A new TaskList plugin was added. It can be used to import Tasks from a file. See http://lists.trolltech.com/pipermail/qt-creator/2010-August/007574.html * A Issue stopping the debugger from starting an application in the terminal was fixed. * Attaching the debugger to PID was fixed. * MSVC parser was improved ---++ C++ Engine * Reduce memory consumption by about 30%. * Loading qtcreator.pro now takes 210MiB instead of 300MiB. * Loading qt/src.pro now takes 420MiB instead of 630MiB. * "Find usages" was unreliable when using the MSVC toolchain. This was fixed. ---++ Nightly Builds * Work is ongoing to update the build servers. Once this is done we can enable nightly builds of master. All work happened on the master branch available here: http://qt.gitorious.org/qt-creator Please feel free to give it a try:-) Please report any issues you run into or suggestions for improvements here: http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/ Best Regards, Tobias -- Tobias Hunger Software Engineer Nokia, Qt Development Frameworks Nokia gate5 GmbH Firmensitz: Invalidenstr. 117, 10115 Berlin, Germany Registergericht: Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, Berlin: HRB 106443 B Umsatzsteueridentifikationsnummer: DE 812 845 193 Geschäftsführer: Dr. Michael Halbherr, Karim Tähtivuori ___ Qt-creator mailing list Qt-creator@trolltech.com http://lists.trolltech.com/mailman/listinfo/qt-creator

Re: [Qt-creator] Displaying mixed source with disassembly in Qt Creator?
Thanks Andre, On Tuesday 31 August 2010 16:41:14 ext Ed Sutton wrote: I am looking for a quick way to evaluate coding optimizations. Is there a way to display both the source code and the generated assembly? Mixed source with assembly is visible during debugging when in "instruction-wise" mode of operation. There's no "static" version of it. Static display of mixed source with assembly would be very cool. Especially for the Nokia embedded types. Qt Creator 1.3.1 (Qt 4.6.1) Jan 18, 2010 I think 1.3.1 does not have "mixed" output, only "plain" disassembler in that case. "mixed" is new in 2.0 IIRC. 2.0.1 is recommended anyway. I tried upgrading to the latest Qt 2.0 and use qtsdk-2010.01 to build with. Qt Creator 2.0 seemed to do some unexpected strange stuff. It ignored my project's DESTDIR and put my project build output in a new directory that I did not tell it to. I may have to try it again when I have time. GDB 6.8 [And that misses all the Python bits ;-}] Can you please elaborate on what I am missing out on? Should I download and install the gdb 7.1 tarball? I spend a lot of time debugging and I really miss the Visual Studio 2008 environment for all aspects of code development. Qt Creator is the best I have found on Linux and perhaps with some additional configuration work, I may no longer envy VS2008. There are two variants now each having a different exception mechanism and stack unwinding. Using SJLJ (setjmp/longjmp) variant (and commonly produced/recommended) doesn't work with Qt. I had to install DW2 (Dwarf-2) MinGW for Qt to work properly.
