Re: [Qt-creator] Qt Creator 2.0 looks ugly on Debian/VMWare
We had the exact same problem here. You have to install x11-dev xproto-* libraries and it will be fine. On Wed, Aug 4, 2010 at 1:08 PM, Karl Krach mailingli...@bluespirit.lawrote: Hello, on my old system (Gentoo + VirtualBox) the qtcreator worked great and looks fine, but on the Debian Squeeze installation with VMWare, the it looks really ugly: http://www.bluespirit.la/tmp/qtcreator.png I have compiled qtcreator with Qt 4.7, which I have installed (./configure --prefix /opt/qt-4.7) by my own (without package manager). The qtcreator from Debian (1.3.1) looks better, but has some font problems. I would be grateful for every hint... Re: [Qt-creator] Build issues with qtcreator:master-stable and Qt-4.7.0 (debian lenny)
Thanks for your answer! I'm planning to develop a rich client based on Qt-creator and I would like to be able to benefit from qt-creator, and qt, bug fixes/new features. Could you point me to the right tags for both qt and qt-creator that I can safely checkout and build *together* ? I'm lost between the archives available online, the master, master-stable, beta-stable tags, and the build time required by Qt exclude the possibility to test each individual combination ;-) On Mon, Jul 19, 2010 at 5:39 PM, Tobias Hunger tobias.hun...@nokia.comwrote: On 19.07.2010 16:41, ext Aurélien Vallée wrote: - Qt 4.7.0 beta 2 built from source (tar.gz from trolltech) IIRC that version is too old (at least for master) already:-( - Qt-creator 2.1.0 cloned from gitorious I just finished building Qt creator fresh out of gitorious (master branch) based on a Qt gitorious checkout (4.7 branch). Re: [Qt-creator] parallel processing in make
Actually, I think he meant: j argument present but not set. Such as make -j. And yes, that should automagically use all available cores. Doesn't make automatically use all available cores if the 'j' argument is not set? I'm sure I read that somewhere. No, here's what I just tried on my 4-core system with one small/medium-sized Qt project: make clean ; time make Time: 1m10s Activity monitor showed: Two cores nearly unused the whole time Other two partially used the whole time (up+down) make clean ; time make -j 2 Time: 42s Activity monitor showed: Two cores only slightly (30%?) used the whole time Other two maxed out the whole time make clean ; time make -j 4 Time: 34s Activity monitor showed: All four cores maxed out the whole time So make does not guess correctly from the point of view of please finish as fast as possible. Hello Duan, You can find a bit of information in the doc directory of qt-creator, you'll have to build it tho. There is also a nice introduction from VCreateLogic available at http://www.vcreatelogic.com/downloads/files/Writing-Qt-Creator-Plugins.pdf.
