How did your Senator vote against this children's Bill. I always find it interesting to see! Dana ** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour ---BeginMessage--- Dear Dana, Last night, thanks to the tireless efforts of activists across the country, the Senate sharply rebuked the President and voted to renew the State Children's Health Insurance Program by a vote of 68 to 31. Over two-thirds of the Senate shrugged off repeated Presidential threats and demonstrated that the health of America's children is not a Republican or Democratic issue, but an issue that unites the majority of the American people. In large part, the decisive vote in the Senate was a direct reaction to the outpouring of grassroots support for our kids' health that has been felt in every Congressional office for months. This is your victory. To see how your Senators voted please click here [http://ga3.org/ct/_1SxI371DR--/]. Please take a moment to call your Senators at 1-800-828-0498 and express your appreciation for their vote on behalf of children or your displeasure with their unwillingness to support kids' health care. The Senate vote follows Wednesday's equally important 225 to 204 vote in the House of Representatives to renew the program and cover millions of children. To see how your Representative in the House voted please click here [http://ga3.org/ct/LpSxI371DR-F/] Please call your Representative at 1-800-828-0498 and tell them, depending on their vote, how thankful or disappointed you are for their actions on behalf of children. There is much more work to be done before this legislation is enacted into law, but today, thanks to your hard work, we celebrate an important intermediate victory for children's health care in this country. To all of you - a huge thank you. Your efforts made a tremendous difference. July 31, 2007 Dear Brothers and Sisters: You may already know national ADAPT will be in Chicago, IL from September 9 to September 13. We are writing to let you know about a forum on Sunday September 9, where we need your help in our work to get more affordable, accessible, integrated housing to help free our people from nursing homes and other institutions. Sunday September 9, from 10AM-12:30PM ADAPT will have a forum to publicize our national housing advocacy platform to get more affordable, accessible integrated housing for people with disabilities so we have adequate housing in the community to go to as our work on Money Follows the Person and the Community Choice Act moves forward. During the afternoon from 2-4PM, officials from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, state housing and Medicaid officials, and other organizations will join us for the forum. We need you to tell your story about the problems you have had in getting out of or staying out of institutions, with a focus on how housing barriers have forced you to go into or stay in an institution against your will. These officials need to understand the real, personal impact that the lack of affordable, accessible, integrated housing has had on us, and why their support for real housing choices makes the difference between of life and death for so many of us. The forum will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 733 WEST MADISON CHICAGO, IL. If you want to testify in the afternoon between 2-4pm to help move ADAPTs housing advocacy agenda, please fill out the attached form and send it to Cassie James at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or send it to Cassie at Liberty Resources, 714 Market Street, Suite 100 Philadelphia, PA 19106 Due to the two hour time limit for the afternoon testimony session, only 30 people at most will be able to testify. We are asking that you fill out and return the attached form so that we can find out the stories that show most clearly how lack of housing options is forcing our people in institutions. If you are chosen to testify we will meet with you on the evening of Saturday, September 8 to prepare for the forum on the 9th. We must receive the form on or before Friday, August 31 to give us time to review your stories and get back to you in time to prepare for the forum. Even if you are not chosen for this forum, there may be other opportunities in the future so we urge you to fill out the form if you are interested in sharing your story! Re: [QUAD-L] handcycles
hi luke -- i purchased a quickie shark handcycle from www.bike-on.com last year and i love it! it's a great way to build strength and get an aerobic exercise in as well. i recommend the shark, but it's a lot lower to the ground than the shadow which makes the transfers slightly more difficult -- especially getting out! i like how the shark leans back and has a headrest making it much more comfortable for me than the others i tried. good luck with your bike -- let me know how you like it! =jessica On 8/3/07, [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I'm thinking about purchasing the Quickie Shadow Mach 2 handcyle from sportaid.com. [QUAD-L] about mach 2 handcycle from sportaid
luke, i got 26 inch wheels for a few reasons, first is gives you more adjustment for long legs(im 6'2) , give you more performance as far as speed, and is the same size as my wheelchair wheels. im going with the standard frame length instead of the short im getting the transfer handles on both sides to extend the seat legth from 16 to about 20 so i can put my jay 2 cushion on there...aand if ev erything works out i will put a jay 2 solid back instead of a sling back. im also going to add an auto style seatbelt and some kind of carrier undeneath the seat for my survival tools. im going with toxic green you just have to make sure that when its all set up you have enough leg length and the crank is high enough not to hit your knees when you turn, thats why im making sure everything is set up for a tall man ron c7.

Well, since we are talking about years post, this Wednesday will be my -- OH MY LORD!-- 36th year as a quad. Like most of you, I never thought I would last this long. Re: FW: Re: [QUAD-L] Exactly 10 years today
i commend all you quads for making it as long as you have. any number of years is a real milestone. cudos to you all. i think they go faster as you go and i think mine at least are getting easier. my mobility is slowing down a bit - so i compensated with a power chair. the b/p seems to be getting a bit more difficult but it still works. i'm loving my grandkids to death and am not ready to 'transition' just yet. god bless you all.. dave c3 inc. 1967 In a message dated 8/4/2007 1:12:45 P.M.
