Fw: [QUAD-L] Sleeplessness

2012-01-04 Thread Candle

I have PTSD and always have trouble sleeping. I have to have the television &
fan on so I don't hear the house settling noises or anyone walking past our
house. If I don't have background noise, I can't sleep.

The last two nights, though, have been the best sleep that I have gotten in
ages. I was so exhausted and I still couldn't sleep until I took a pain pill.
Both nights I had to and I slept light a baby. I hate that I get used to a
certain level of pain and just consider it normal. I sometimes don't realize
that I am hurting until the pain stops. Anyone else have that?

Sleeping disorders can affect anyone, quads included.  Those reasons
vary greatly. Some drugs and OTC help, while environment can also aid, like a
small fan or tv/radio.  White noise using a sound generator can improve
sleeping habits. Diets or the lack of a diet can affect the length of a sleep
cycle. The body does an amazing amount of healing during deep sleep.  Are
you getting enough rest?

that's too cool for me - but if it is much warmer, the pa's are worse and more
frequent.  I use a plethora of otc drugs and root extracts in alternating
sequence.  My body seems to quickly figure each one out and render it useless
so I have to switch around.

Re: [QUAD-L] Kindle vs Nook

2012-01-04 Thread Candle
Thank you for everyone who answered my audio question.

Do the Kindle and Nook have memory cards? When people say they can download
books, do they have access to them all the time, or only when in a wi-fi area?

I know that the Kindle has the capability of playing audio books.  I have not
used this feature, because I have the talking books player instead.  The new
one is fantastic and you can even download some of the books online to play on
the talking books player.

Re: [QUAD-L] sediment in urine

2012-01-04 Thread KK
Just got back from my PCP about sediment in urine. Yesterday there was so much
that irrigation wasn't moving anything.

Did ask about coffee causing sediment. He said no way. Lemon tho will change
your body's ph level & will definitely cause sediment.

As long as coffee is still on the menu I will be fine. LOL!

I used to drink lots of water mixed with lemon juice, and I used to have quite
a
bit of sediment.

Someone on this forum said that lemon juice could cause sediment. I stopped
drinking lemon juice, and the amount of sediment dramatically decreased.

Does anyone have any issue with coffee causing sediment in urine?
