I very much recommend a colostomy. Changed my life. I use to bleed now 
and then too. My doc said it happens a lot.  To try using extra gel / lube.


But my program made me sweat so bad, and took 2 hours. The only thing I 
hated was drinking the stuff that cleans you out pre surgery. Because 
you get such bad diarrhea after drinking that stuff, I stayed in the 
hospital the night before the surgery. I didn’t want to still have 
diarrhea on the way to the hospital, etc. Made things so much easier.


Now I don't live my life around poop, worried about issues, accidents, 
leaks, etc.

I quit using digistem  and started drinking water with Mirlax. But it might 
work for you. Routine & food matter.

Well, it's happening in SW Ohio. Aids and nurses with smartphones are being 
tracked to be sure they are where they say they are at that time. They know how

Hello Debra,

It's hard to advise more specifically without knowing what state and city
you live in, but most if not all states have regional Area Agencies on
Aging (AAAs) and most of them provide an Aging and Disability Resource
Connection (ADRC) or some similar service that you should be able to
contact and see what services, waivers, etc. you may be eligible for to
transition from the nursing home to your community. These waiver programs
and services may have waiting lists, some lengthy, so it's best to apply
for and be added to any existing list for eligible support ASAP.

I also encourage you to contact your local Center for Independent Living
(CIL). Like the AAAs and ADRCs, most if not all states have regional CILs,
each serving multiple counties. Many CILs have staff and/or programs
dedicated to transitioning consumers from nursing homes to the community or
helping to prevent them from going to a nursing home for long-term care.

If you provide your state and city I'll be glad to research more specific
information for you.
