Re: [QUAD-L] Phone holders
You explained that very well Noel and I thank you for it!!! I kept the information in case it is something I can use in the future because, right now, nothing else would work with the very little help that I do have. Have a great evening! ~Lori On Thu, Oct 4, 2018 at 3:26 PM Noel wrote: > Lori, that is true, it would ( and did initially) get in the way of going > under my computer desk. Re: [QUAD-L] Phone holders
Lori, that is true, it would ( and did initially) get in the way of going under my computer desk. I had to rearrange it so that I go underneath at an angle and the corner of the desk is pointing straight at my stomach and the phone holder attached to the armrest fits just to the side of the desk. I place my trackball on the corner so that it is above my lap. Situated this way, it's hard to reach my keyboard, so I use Naturally Speaking and a keyboard app on my tablet. The same app also let's me control the mouse, it turns the tablet into a touchpad. But, it's still easier to use the trackball. You're right, I do have to have it moved out of the way a couple times a day, it gets in the way eating for instance. Also going through some of the doorways in the house I live in. I'm curious if there's a cell phone holder available that can be easily swung out of the way. Re: [QUAD-L] Phone holders
Greg, I want to be able to pick it up off a table or my bed and hold it to my ear, I could put it on speaker as well. I think someone said something about a ring where I could hook my thumb through that would mount on the back of the iPhone. Bobbie "Be the change you want to see in the world". Re: [QUAD-L] Phone holders
Pardon my ignorance and I guess the bottom line is that we are all different as to if we can't move our arms or hands that all or have a little bit of movement for our differing needs and the huge variety of different cell phone usage that works for each and every one of us. Noel this would be a silly/stupid question but if I were to purchase something like you have and mount it to your Permobil wheelchair. I also have a Permobil (M300) but if I were to mount the RAM x-grip to my wheelchair it would get in the way of me getting my only usable right hand (but no finger movement) to operate my joystick to drive my chair. I would not be able to drive under my desk whereby my Large Desktop PC and monitors sit; not to mention fitting under a dining room table. I also do not have anyone around every single minute of every day if I wanted it taken off. I just looked it up on Amazon and it is also pricey. If it works for someone that uses it every day or needed every day... it would be worth it. When you say that you also use it to control your desktop computer and then move the mouse around to use it as a keyboard... I would love to see exactly how you do that. Of course that is not going to happen unless you were able to put it up on YouTube or something. I do not own my own house because my life took a different turn. Therefore I am "assuming" that you live in your own home and own your own satellite dish, etc. I also would need help from a caregiver with so many other things that it would be superfluous to purchase something like this. I thank you for making me aware of this particular phone holder and there might be a YouTube video out there. I wish my circumstances were that I lived in my own home, lived with family, was eligible for Medicaid and so on and so forth but I'm not or I do not. Happy autumn to you and every other member who reads this! ~Lori On Thu, Oct 4, 2018 at 6:01 AM Noel wrote: > I also use TracFone, a Samsung that I can answer calls by voice and > place calls by pressing one button followed by giving it a voice > command. > > Recently purchased another RAM x-grip that will hold a Samsung tablet. > It's nice because I can also use it to control many things in my home > that use infrared remotes (TV, satellite, a fan). Re: [QUAD-L] Phone holders
I also use TracFone, a Samsung that I can answer calls by voice and place calls by pressing one button followed by giving it a voice command. Recently purchased another RAM x-grip that will hold a Samsung tablet. It's nice because I can also use it to control many things in my home that use infrared remotes (TV, satellite, a fan). I also use it to control my desktop computer, can move the mouse around use it as a keyboard. Re: [QUAD-L] Phone holders
I use a Ram X-Grip, I was able to get the adapter to mount it to my wheelchair from Permobil. Re: [QUAD-L] Phone holders
I don't use anything since it would just get in the way. Before my husband's passing, him and I were just using flip phones because everything we needed or wanted was on our computer. Then, after moving in with my sister and brother-in-law and decided to get a Smartphone. IPhones, in my opinion, do a lot of things but nothing I need so I use a Samsung. I keep it in a bag that is attached to my right arm rest and I have a Bluetooth that I use with it since I can use my right "paw" to answer the phone. Another thing I began to do with the phone is in the evenings when I am laying in bed... I have a holder for it that we put on my over the bed table. My caregiver connects it to either Amazon prime or Netflix so that it will play anything (I usually choose a movie because I only use it on a certain night). Every other night after getting in bed I use my Tablet Kiosk with a microphone so I can compose e-mails or search things on the net and, most importantly... I have a ton of things on my Kindle device to read. I basically do not watch any TV... just not interested. Anyway, what I use to hold my smart phone that sits on my over the bed table can be seen here (I say that I ordered it in July of 2014) but don't even remember that since I had to move again and I know I purchased a cheaper one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0074U2MAK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I can't reach out and touch the screen or anything however... my disability does not allow that. I do know that it "clips on" my over the bed table. And that it is blue. I have had a quite a while and it is plastic so it is going to need replacing but waiting till the last possible moment to purchase one that is not plastic like seeing here (I also turn my phone sideways since the holder allows it to be twisted around or angled): https://www.amazon.com/WizGear-Premium-iPhones-Android-Smartphones/dp/B07C27D2XC/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1538622370&sr=8-20&keywords=smart+phone+holder+for+desk On Wed, Oct 3, 2018 at 7:44 PM Bobbie Humphreys wrote: > What do you guys use to hold a smart phone? > I'm looking into getting an iPhone, never had one. > I use a track phone > Bobbie > > > > > "Be the change you want to see in the world". What do you guys use to hold a smart phone? I'm looking into getting an iPhone, never had one. I use a track phone Bobbie "Be the change you want to see in the world". Gandhi
