Re: [QUAD-L] SAT mattress/Beds

2007-11-18 Thread Ms Linda Ferrell
Hi Everyone,
Which bed is the best, Well this is a good question. I was very lucky to have a
KCI bed donated to me from a friend that passed away. It was great because it
does a lateral rotation since I live by myself usually stay in one position
for 12 or 13 hours at a time, it was really great. Then it came to a holt last
spring. It started leaking hydraulic fluid the mattress bottomed me out in
the middle, so now I need six new pillow cushions that go into the mattress at
$100.00 a piece. The part for the hydraulic leak is $502.00. I can't afford to
repair it. I'm going to give it away to someone who's wealthier than me. By the
way KCI business here in Indiana is a bi%*h! to work with service is horrible
expensive. I loved the bed when it was working.

I bought this mattress three years ago and have had no problems with it. It
certainly isn't the wunderbed they make it out to be, but I haven't developed
any pressure spots with it. I am also one of the phoney testimonials on their
website. Check it out -- Larry Willis, Campbellsville, KY -- not my picture and
not mywords.

That's just another reason this list is awesome!
I actually didn't want this bed but rehab saw this web site and Mr. Reeve's
endorsement and insisted I get it, I was looking at a Thermapedic mattress and
wish I would've gotten one.

First off Chris Reeve never used this bed and they're being sued by them and a

If you go to testimonials on thier web site you'll find me on there Mark
Jackson of Haskel endorsing this bed but it's an out right lie, I never gave a

This bed is nothing more than a foam bed with some air baffles in it and a

Right now there's a hole in my bed or an impression of my butt where I lay and

I was wondering if anyone has tried the SAT, self adjusting technology

I agree with you there Will, I haven't had any break down but I've never had
that problem even sleeping on a thin air pad for the first few years but
this mattress is about the same as sleeping on an air mattress from Wal-Mart
which is only $40 instead a couple thousand.

Re: [QUAD-L] SAT mattress

2007-11-13 Thread Lori Michaelson
I did a search on the SAT mattresses and found out Will the real SAT beds
stand up? One of the first hyperlinks that came up was that it was made by
KCI... the maker of the wound VACS. After that, there were a bunch of other
sites also calling the mattresses the same thing but were not really the
same thing. Try it.

I have to agree with Mark that these things are certainly not cracked up to
be what they say they are. Too many people are trying to sell all these
different mattresses with all of their wacky marketing.

You know how Lindsay Wagner has an advertisement for the sleep number
bed? That bed is no different than the rotating air mattress that I have
on my hospital bed! I can adjust my rotating air mattress at different
levels of comfort also. They are selling anything new or remarkable.

My husband had found the same goes for the temperpedic beds. Advertising
that the material first came, or was used by, NASA... means diddly shit.
They only use that for marketing.

It's always about buyer beware!
