[QUAD-L] alternating air pressure mattress

2017-08-04 Thread DEBRA DEW

I think I ordered the wrong one, because I've had it on my bed for 48 hours now
and cannot get it to be comfortable.. I keep having to put a bed pillow
underneath my derrière..

It doesn't have an adjustment asking for the patient's weight, only a way to
adjust the pressure up and down. And I would like it to rotate me slightly as
often as possible to relieve the pressure points, and I felt absolutely no
movement at all and there is no way to tell it the time intervals between the
movement,, such as every 20 minutes, etc.

This is the one I
ordered…http://therapysupport.com/pdfs/manuals/mattresses/Drive%20Med-Aire%20APM%20Manual.pdf
On page 7 on thtthe instructions online, it shows a picture of the control
box and tells what eeeach button does..

Please give me your opinions because I have no one else knowledgeable to ask.
Thank you all so much

2017-04-10 Thread Fragile
Debora, yes I can feel the movement, but it is very subtle. Prior to this
one, I tried a cheap mattress overlay where the feeling of movement was a
little more noticeable, unfortunately the overlays would only last for a
couple of weeks before developing a leak. I've got my microair set on low
air loss, don't feel anything because it doesn't move. I'm not sure if it
offers as much protection set this way as opposed to alternating pressure.

I also have a microair, model ma50. My only complaint is the noise of the
pump every time it alternates the air. Most of the time I just leave it on
low air loss mode so I only have to hear the noise about once an hour when
it senses that the pressure is getting low. Would love to find one that's
quite, wondering if the MA65 is just as loud?

Looks good. Do you have it in lateral rotation, alternating pressure
therapy, or float mode?

If it still isn't working contact the company. Good luck.

I've tried out this mattress for two days and I cannot tell the difference
from my old one. I just went back to having the nurse put a bed pillow
between my bottom and the mattress to try to keep me from touching the thing

I was assured it would be rotating my body a small amount to be able to
relieve pressure areas on my bottom but I cannot feel anything being shifted
and I have been told I could feel it moving me slightly if it was working
properly.

I am severely disappointed and need to figure out a solution posthaste
before I get another bed sore.

I would be able to purchase my own mattress if I only knew what would work.

Debra,

Maybe something to consider:

Look closely at Buying Options section-the whole mattress is $1500 at least.

If you've had serious sores, you've probably seen and/or used any of these,
but if not, it's worth a look. I didn't know these options existed until
recently.

I feel your pain. Good luck!
