Yes VPG, was an investment group (profit oriented). Its only assets were its investors who were expecting big returns on their investments. Best Wishes In a message dated 5/21/2013 3:31:08 P.M. Re: [QUAD-L] mv-1 mobilty vehicle is no more
I looked into the MV-1 and had high hopes for it. But, as was stated earlier, it was designed for mass transit, not the consumer market. It got horrible mileage [12 mpg?] Drove and felt like a tank [good or bad, depending on your situation], and had a clumsy ramp and door setup. I hope they regroup under bankruptcy protection and then find a better design. Don. Re: [QUAD-L] mv-1 mobilty vehicle is no more
Ron, I had the opportunity, almost a decade ago at the National BusCon Show in Chicago and LasVegas to meet with the owners and management of a new emerging company. I think they were based in Washington State and later moved to Florida as they developed engineering ideas for a new type of vehicle a Taxi Cab for the commercial market. Back then, they were pushing the idea to have new skins for the fenders and doors making damaged pieces easy to change out. Over the years I saw and touched several proto-types and then the choice to built the vehicles in SouthBend -AMC Plant. All they would discuss, back then were taxi and the taxi market. When the suggestion of making the vehicle available to the consumer market, it wasn't discussed or thought of. Later the idea of also addressing the para-transist market was considered as they tried to use the consumers to demand to their taxi providers to purchase the MV1. When they released that the taxi market was more then they could handle and their vehicle was not accepted, they began looking elsewhere into other markets. They consumer market was their very last resort and their finale. Best Wishes In a message dated 5/21/2013 7:53:37 A.M.
