Re: [QUAD-L] we made it!
I'm in the Los Angeles area and it's 80 here today. Even though I'm spoiled with warm winters in my area I'm still like the rest of you and hate winter. But at least it's bearable here and never stops me from going out. I've been a quad for 24 years and one thing I highly recommend is moving to a warm state. Think California, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. Being cold and miserable a few months out of the year is no way to live. I looked into a few financial areas of each of these states for a quadriplegic and found California offers the most benefits. If your unemployed and on Social Security you get Higher Social Security and SSI payment than most states. Medicare and Medical pays for all Hospital, Meds, Supplies, and Wheelchairs. Free In Home Supportive Services for caregiver. Lastly Section 8 housing. So come to California all of my fellow quad's. The door is open and it's warm outside...lol From: "linda...@comcast.net" To: RONALD L PRACHT Cc: quad-list Sent: Sunday, March 8, 2015 2:54 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] we made it! Yes hooray! Yesterday 40's, I sat outside on my patio for 2 hrs with just a sweatshirt & jeans on. I turned a little pink on my face, yeah! Today we had snow flurries coming home from church. Yes, isn't it great to get through the winter no it's ending? I love the time change to that helps a lot. Soon St. Patrick's Day then Easter and spring, Spring, spring!Bobbie Smile Everyday > On Mar 7, 2015, at 10:24 PM, RONALD L PRACHT wrote: > > Well guys, we have just about made it through another winter! RE: [QUAD-L] we made it!
Today was absolutely awesome, 65°and it was 78° and the greenhouse! Tomorrow even more warmth. However, march to April is generally one of our wet and windy times so I am not celebrating the coming of spring just yet. But it says something when I can go outside in a light weight turtleneck and be too warm next to the house. Let us know how the new mattress works. I had to remind myself too have someone put the clocks ahead. Tomorrow night it will be light until 7:00 PM hip hip hooray.
