MicroNet NuPort II SCSI card - anybody know how this works?

2003-10-07 Thread Greg Shafritz
Hi everyone!

I'm back on the list after about two years of being off.
Sure is great to be back!

I've got an old (circa 1991) MicroNet NuPort II SCSI card that I'm trying to
test the capabilities of.
Trouble is, I can't find ANY documentation or useful info about it on the
web. I have no documentation or software, just the card.

It has 2 SCSI connectors:

One miniature 50-pin SCSI-2 connector (for external drives)
One standard internal 50-pin SCSI connector (don't know if it's SCSI-1 or
SCSI-2)

Do I need a control panel to utilize or configure the features/functions of
this SCSI adapter?
If so, does anyone out there have have a copy?
MicroNet is of no help whatsoever, unfortunately.

As for documentation, has anyone got a manual they could scan or photocopy?

Thanks very much in advance.
I look forward to your help!

All the best,
Greg Shafritz

No, both ... the floppy can be deleted altogether, or it can be moved
down towards the speaker, using the 9150 front plastic and floppy bracket.

Hell, I've even installed a SCSI Zip in that location, using a special
adapter cable.

(9150 bezels are also handy, if not absolutely necessary, for some Q950
configurations).

Not enough drive connectors, and in the wrong configuration, for the
"five drive shelf". The accessory comes with a replacement SCSI cable.

The issue is the same, as I stated previously, and as you restated
immediately above ... but this thread has become defocused, and I have
become weary of it.

More precisely, "a CD-ROM _or_ a tape drive". There's only one drive bay
available for the removable media drive. Second one is populated my the
floppy drive, so if you'll install both CD and tape, you'll have to
remove floppy drive, or to replace the front panel with another one,
where FDD is mounted in the bottom part of it.

As for WGS95 - it uses its own SCSI controller inserted into the PDS
slot, so this variant isn't related to the topic of our discussion.
Moreover, that controller can not be used by 'normal' MacOS - only A/UX
can use it, AFAIK.

What's wrong with it? :-)

We're talking about different issue here: using the same IDs for the
devices connected to both SCSI buses.

Artur
