Re: Undeliverable mail: Re: Quadlist Digest #1298

2003-06-27 Thread PastorScott02

Is there a web site that will allow the posting of pictures online via an LC
580 usingsystem 7.5. I'm part of an Argus Camera users group and would love to
post pictures that I have taken with my faithful Argus C 3 Matchmatic as well
as my Argus C 4.

Thank you

Hard Drive in a Quadra

2003-03-29 Thread PastorScott02
I have a question for you folks.

I have a 4.1 GB Segate Baracuda hard drive running at 7200 rpms. I was
planning on placing it in an external case. However; if I place this in a
Quadra 605, will it burn the thing up? I would do it, but I'm afraid the
heat would be too much for this computer.

Thanks for the advice guys.

hard drive blues

2003-03-27 Thread PastorScott02
I purchased a 4.1 GB segate Baracuda hard drive which I plan on placing in an
external scsi case. When I connected the drive to my LC 580, it is recognized
by SCSI probe, but no hard drive icon appears on my desk top. There is a
light that comes on in front of the drive, so I know it's working. What am I
missing here.

I would put the drive in my beloved old Qudra 605, but I'm afraid there are
to many rpms for the old thing. I'd burn it up for sure.

If you folks can give me any suggestions I could use the help. My drive on my
LC is filling up fast. Besides, a new faster drive would give me a speed
boost.

Thank you.

PhotoPrinter

2003-02-11 Thread PastorScott02
Is there a decent printer for a Quadra that will allow the printing of
photo's? I scan my pictures into the computer; this gives better quality
than the digital camera's of the day will. I use a SyleWriter 2400, and an
Imagewriter for my printing needs. The attempts to print pictures have been
less than what I desire. I should add, the Imagewriter is used for word
processing to save money on ink.

Thanks for the information

Yes! 7.5.5 is much more stable and a little faster than 7.5.3 on my LC 580.
As for real life test. It's worth the upgrade.

re E-mail Question

2002-12-28 Thread PastorScott02
Thanks

I've never thought of that. I use an old LC 580, but it gives me a lot less
headaches than my Windows using friends who have the latest and greatest. And
the best part of it is these old Macs are built like a tank. I have three
kids who can't break it. And they are masters at breaking things let me tell
you.

Thanks again

E Mail question

2002-12-25 Thread PastorScott02
I hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas.

I have a small conundrum that you folks may be able to help me with. I e
mailed a holiday picture to some of my family who happen to use Windows based
computers. Several of them couldn't open the file. It was in a Jpeg format
when I sent it. I use an Epson 500c scanner along with Color It and Graphics
converter to manipulate my pictures. While the end product doesn't compare to
print film, it's not that bad.

Can any of you folks tell me why my sister can't open the pictures I sent?
AOL's E mail program reads them fine.

Thanks for your assistance

I hope every one of you have a wonderful New Year

Quadra 700 woes

2002-12-20 Thread PastorScott02
Good afternoon everyone,

My son's Quadra 700 has a slight problem. It boots up as nice as ever;
however, the mouse doesn't move. The arrow stays where it appears on the
desktop. It's not froze because I can open the hard drive and such using
keyboard commands. Am I right to assume the APD port is toast? I assume I'll
have to get a new mother board off Ebay. Is there any other options?

Thanks for all the advice folks

Here's wishing you folks a wonderful Holiday Season.

Try www.Applelinks.com. I use this for my web mail address. It seems to work
well. AOL is a giant poke in the eye. But I have three kids and the parental
control features hold me hostage.

I hope this helps.

QUADRA 700

2002-11-28 Thread PastorScott02
Is there any way I can get my Quadra 700 to use more than 256 colors? I've
tried a spare video card, and it didn't work. I want to use this as a spare

Thank you

AOl on a 68k Mad

2002-09-30 Thread PastorScott02

i just received the digest. So I'm sorry if this has been answered. I use AOL
on my LC 580. You can use AOL 4.0 on a 68040 Mac with little trouble. 3.0 is
faster than 4.0, however; some of the features won't work. I enjoy 4.0 myself
for one reason. Half of our family is on AOL. I use it to keep in touch with
them.

I hope this helps.

Have a great day folks.

LC 580

I paid $1.00 for my LC 580. It was sold for parts, but the owner didn't
realize you had to turn the switch in the back of the computer and then hit
the switch on the keybord. One simple ram upgrade that cost me less than
$10.00 was all this computer needed. Now the only computer I use in my
church. I love my new vintage Mac. Not a bad way to spend a buck either.

Have a great day.
