Driving down the A36 towards Warminster at 1725hr (that's 5.25 in the old
money), I saw 2 or 3 Caterham Clones (though not an Xtreme) and then a couple
of
Austin Healey 3000sthey may have been replicas or the genuine article, I'm
not sureand then as I approached the roundabout by the local services,
where
the A350 separates from the A36, on the northern edge of Warminster, I saw two
Q's crossing the roundabout heading towards Westbury on the A350. The first was

a 2+2 with a black hood (for some reason I'm unsure of the body colour) and
then
two cars later a pale blue H4 followed. As I was driving my own White H4 at the

time, I flashed my lightsso if it was you in the blue H4 and you saw some
goon flash from a left turn at 28 past 5 Sunday afternoonit was me...and I
wondered where you'd been? Was there a local motor event I've missed ?
I will be at Exeter next month.

[Quantum Owners] H4 High Level Brake light

2010-09-20 Thread bilje55
Ever since a rear end shunt robbed me of my first kit car I have been
an advocate of high backed seats with head rests and high level third
brake lights.
I want to fit one to the rear of my H4located in the middle of the
panel that slopes upwards from the boot lid to the rear screen...so it
will have to mount on the outside of the body . 90's Saab 9000's have
an external unit that might do, if I can fine a decent onebut I
wondered if anyone else had found a unit that does this job? I'd
rather an LED strip type light, but it would need to have its own
enclosure that could be attached through the panel, either with
Rivnuts or bolts if I can a) get to the back of the panel (which I
assume can be reached via the wet compartment where the folded rear
screen fits). and b) if there is actually suufficient clearance inside
this compartment to manage this.
Any thoughts, anyone?

I think that one will need an IVA test to make it road legal, but for
£600 a good source of spares, the engine may be worth the £600.

drivers for entrance, £5 was quoted on sunday but I heard that on
saturday the full entrance price of £10 was charged. Being from

kit car drivers there would be no kit car show, they then relented and
I only had to pay for her indoors.Even then thought that the show was
poor inside as well, guess that this years will be the last outing at
stafford for the kit car show, it will certainly be my last visit
there either way.

Hi Ian,

Not a bad turn out but less than the last couple of years.

I think;

3 Xtremes
4 2+2's
2 H4's

Happy to be corrected if I can't count. Challenging course this year. As
Geoff said loads of cones! Everywhere - but not distributed wildly by Steve.

I have heaps of snaps as usual. I'll upload some as soon as I get chance.
(Robyn can show you a few)

2010-09-20 Thread barnacle
As it happens, I'll be at Curborough in the Fiat Coupe on the 1st, so
I'll have to miss this one.

We're being told that helmets are not required...

I only tickled them this year, but I think I tickled most of them ;)

Oh yeah, there were a few doughnuts in the grass car park too!

[Quantum Owners] Re: Stafford Kit Car Show

2010-09-20 Thread Bob Craig
There was a reasonable turnout from the Robin Hood club and a few
Jagos. You could have seen these for free. Cost me £40 to get in (me,
the wife, daughter and her friend) hence why I'm disappointed.

Spoke to some of the guys on the parts stands and they weren't
impressed either, saying that it was not a good weekend for them. I'd
be surprised if it goes ahead again next year. Den Tanner has had 3
years to get it right after slating the previous organiser but clearly
the manufacturers are being very selective about which shows they
attend during these hard times and don't fancy Stafford.

We combined the journey with a visit to my brother in law and Saturday
at Drayton Manor theme park, so it wasn't a wasted weekend.

Bob

[Quantum Owners] Re: Stafford Kit Car Show

2010-09-20 Thread John Woodward
We went in 2008, there were 2 other Quantum's there, it was poorly
organised outside & virtually dead inside, vowed to never go again as
not like the old Stafford shows that used to be in March. Den Tanner
quotes something like " great event, just like the good old days", if
that was true I don't think there would any shows worth visting, roll
on Exeter !
