[qubes-users] Xps-15 current-testing problem

2017-05-08 Thread Mystic Buyer
Hi,

I installed qubes on xps 15 and as expected after updating dom0 experienced all
the graphical
Problems which I also had mentioned in previous posts.
Only this time I upgraded dom0 to current testing
And now after reboot I am facing this endless loop
Problem where password for disk comes up and then
Reboots over an over asking for password.

Has anyone had this problem before. Please let me know what I can do to tackle
this. Thanks

Yes I did observe that when I installed qubes on acer aspire, configuration not
as good as xps 15.

Except the touchpad doesn't work. But everything else works perfectly fine even
after the dom0 update no problems at all.

I updated my dom0 on xps 15 to unstable repo as mentioned in some other posts
and it did solve the problems, everything after the update to unstable repo on
xps 15 is working fine.

Hey Stefan,

I recently installed qubes 3.2 on my xps 15. Did almost similar things in bios
before booting off of the usb. Installed perfectly and everything worked fine.

However, after updating dom0 things seem to have turned to worse. The graphics
have taken a hit and I can observe serious lag. Did you face similar glitches?
Could find any solutions to it? Please do share your solutions if you happened
to have solved the issue. Thanks

Facing very similar problems after updating dom0. Not sure what is causing it.

Mouse seems to have severe lag, windows behavior is bad and delayed.

[qubes-users] Graphics Problem after updating Dom0

2017-04-29 Thread Mystic Buyer
Hi guys

I hope someone will be able to help me out on this. So I just installed Qubes
3.2 on my Dell xps 15 9560. Things worked perfectly until I updated dom0. After
the dom0 software was updated (like I read on some posts to Fedora 24, not sure
though). The graphics seems to have broken completely.

*Touchpad does not work correctly after the login screen. Responds in glitches.

*The screen has slowed down. Everything typed responds very late. And dom0 says
"ClockVM failed to start. Exiting." Not sure what that is

*The windows seem to respond like curtains falling from bottom down.

If someone can tell me what is wrong and if some solutions that can be applied.

Thanks.

Thank you for the quick reply. So I did think about changing from RAID to AHCI,
but I am not sure how I should go about it safely if anything could go wrong
with the os.

There is an option for Legacy boot mode but I think since I am able to boot
into the installer that shouldn't be a problem, or is it?

And yes I did select the verify qubes before the install qubes option, and it
did for upto 8% and it said it failed and froze on me.

Just to make sure that the problem was with the internal ssd not being
recognized I connected via a usb and external HDD and qubes did recognized that
in the installation destination page. So I really don't know how should I get
internal disk to be detected for installation.

I am trying to install it on my Dell xps 15 9560 - 16GB DDR, 512GB SSD. I am
trying to install it on the SSD on my laptop, its a Toshiba make it is set to
RAID enabled in Bios, booting in UEFI mode. Any pointers on how to check the
integrity of the qubes os. I did the first option to check if qubes is original
before installing but it gave up on me and froze, so I suppose I'll have to do
it by comparing my self. I tried installing on my Acer Aspire V, which is of
much lower architecture with 6GB DDR and lower specs than xps 15 and it was
installed and working good except the touch pad isn't recognized. I am
wondering what is wrong with my xps 15. Any suggestions? And also pointers on
checking the Integrity of Qubes.
