2016-05-12 Thread James Brown
I could not start DrRacket on Arch Linux. Does anyone else have the same
problem?

It should be possible. Can you share more about your setup? What version of
DrRacket, what happens when you try to start it, etc.

If click on the icon of DrRacket, nothing happens. If I type "drracket" in
Terminal, i get the following messages, then it stays like that.

Version 6.5-1

Yep, looks non-functional.

What operating system is this?

D’oh! I’m an idiot. Sorry, Arch Linux, yep.

Looks like a gtk method is returning a null pointer. I know there have been
recent messages about gtk, and more specifically changes to the gtk version
used. I reviewed them, and none of them look obviously relevant. It looks to
me like DrRacket is failing to create the splash screen bitmap. I’m afraid
you’re going to have to wait for a reply from someone more intimately
acquainted with the racket/gtk interface!

Best,

John Clements
