This happens at least once a day and doesn't seem to be related to the feed. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] alarm is not working reliable
Hi I'm having the same issue. I bought the Radio 10 days ago and the alarm worked only 1 time (not on time but with a 15 minutes delay). In all other cases it shows me the time and the little clock symbol but nothing happens - the radio stays off. Furthermore, I need to enter the alarm time every day since the radio just deletes the stored alarm time. It doesn't matter what I choose as a alarm tone (usally a radio station). It just doesn't work. it might be in the folder the my music folder itself is in...? obviously, you don't have to keep trying, but it would drive me crazy. i like to get to the bottom of things like that, b/c there def is a reason and its the kind of thing we're likely to run into again. but i also agree it really doesn't matter, esp if its not in SBS and only in XP. -- MrSinatra www.lion-radio.org using: sb2 sbc (my home) / sbr (parent's home) - sbs 7.4.2b - win xp pro sp3 ie8 - p4(ht) 3.2ghz / 2gig ram - 1tb wd usb2 raid1 - d-link dir-655 - 35k mp3 MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71290 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] alarm is not working reliable
Maybe there are different issues due to different data centers. Probably the software developers only test with the only correctly configured/working data center and thus are not able to reproduce what happens to their customer every day: a completely unreliable alarm feature. Then again, any kind of design review should also have shown that there is something totally wrong with the handling of the MYSB connection. It is not verified, not automatically restored and the only reaction is a beep when you want to use a function that would need the MYSB connection. PLEASE, could someone at Logitech finally start to look at this? If the unreadable time isn't a showstopper already for the use as bedside radio, the complete lack of a reliable alarm functionality is for sure. -- 0xdeadbeef 0xdeadbeef's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2287 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71585 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] alarm is not working reliable
The whole concept of an alarm function - whose ONLY Critical Success Factor is that it goes off at the correct time every day - that relies on the Internet in any way is just plain stupid. [SlimDevices: Radio] Wireless probs
Hi all ! I am suffering from the following two wireless bugs/issues: - hidden SSID = no connection at all. tried it with three different APs, same result. - whatever channel I use (1-12), at about 1.5 meters from the AP (with broadcast SSID), the signal strength is between 25 and 35%. My iPhone can connect to the wireless network one floor below, with the SBRadio cannot connect from the other end of the room. SBR is 7.4.1-r7915APs tried are Apple, AVM(fritz) and netgear. Any hints, clues, etc ? Is it normal for the SBR to have such a weak signal so close to the AP ? The -internet- connection is not the issue here. And with a properly implemented fallback to an internal emergency sound (which is exited already, yet too short) the concept itself is flawless. The detail design however is awry and the implementation is buggy. It's a complete mystery to me why the responsibles obviously try to rush a 2nd flawed device for the Christmas reason instead of using all resources to fix the Radio first. -- 0xdeadbeef 0xdeadbeef's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2287 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71585 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] alarm is not working reliable
So far, after a week, other than the lack of a back-up alarm (for power / internet outages), I'm really enjoying this Radio. I find the menu layout well thought out and intuitive and the hardware itself is a beauty in design (... I would compare it very favorably to an Apple product). For a mono set-up, the sound is excellent (I would compare it to the Tivoli Model One) . The ability to cross-reference songs and albums between Pandora, Last.fm. Rhapsody, etc is a nice plus. (Sometimes, its hard just to sit back and listen!) And I also like the ability to control and set-up the product from my computer on mysqueezebox.com. And all this for only $150. now, just put a back-up alarm in the next software update and it will be perfect. Tony T;489590 Wrote: Agreed, and this should be very easy to implement in a software update. It's about an unreliable alarm -despite of- a perfectly valid internet connection. -- 0xdeadbeef 0xdeadbeef's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2287 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71585 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Wireless probs
Well, I would suggest trying 7.5 BETA firmware.. The only way to get that right now is to install 7.5 BETA onto a system, hard wire your Boom to the router, and attach it to that server. Once you get the 7.5 firmware on the boom, Factory Reset it and try wireless again. If you still have the same VERY short range, then it's a hardware issue. Contact support or return it to your retailer for a replacement. -- jrichardson James R.
