Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Help: unable to connect to mysb.com
Are there any errors or odd messages showing on the Radio menu Settings/Advanced/Diagnostics ? -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71931 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Help: unable to connect to mysb.com
Don't think so. Only the sb server settings show not connected, but I guess that's normal since sb server is disabled. -- aka68 aka68's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34582 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71931 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] Too many problems - Can't enter email, can't access internet radio, freezes up...
Got my SB Radio yesterday, downloaded the latest firmware (7.4.1 r7915, hardware version 5), and proceeded to spend hours dealing with what looks like software glitches. They include: - Could not enter my email address to access my SB account. I would enter the 20 characters then select '' but nothing would happen. I turned off/on and reentered several times but had no luck. Finally it worked, not sure why, but I ended up creating a new account with my work email which isn't ideal but heck if I'm going to spend another hour going through that exercise again. - Can't access 'Internet Radio': when I select it in the menu and press the big button nothing happens, just a beep. If I reboot it works but then stops working again after a while. - Can't access 'My Music': same as above. - Can't access 'Favorites': when I select it in the menu and press the big button I get the spinning circle ('thinking') icon that stays there forever. If I reboot it works but then stops working again after a while. - When I press 'More' when listening to an internet radio station a window opens up with information, but after the radio's been on for a bit the window will pop up empty. If I reboot it works but then stops working again after a while. I do not have the server software on my machine nor do I want to install it - I just want to listen to internet radio from my garage. Hopefully someone can help me out here, otherwise this Radio's going back to Amazon with a negative review. - Radio resets: My radio stopped in the middle of listening to DI.fm and rebooted itself, said it was a 'system error'. - Could not enter my email address to access my SB account. I would enter the 20 characters then select '' but nothing would happen. I turned off/on and reentered several times but had no luck. Finally it worked, not sure why, but I ended up creating a new account with my work email which isn't ideal but heck if I'm going to spend another hour going through that exercise again. Many beta testers complained about the need for an internet connection and a working MySB.com server in order to set up a Radio/Touch player. Okay, so Radio is being marketted as an internet radio player, so the need for an internet connection may be less of a concern than for Touch, but even so, it shouldn't be necessary to have a MySB.com account to access most internet radio streams. I also think that there's no way to change MySB.com account, other than a factory reset of the Radio and going through setup again. Did it download a new firmware when you initially connected it? Do you know what version you have? Depending on the fw version, the device could be accessing a different server for MySB.com (i.e. using a test server). Otherwise it could be that MySB.com was down for a while. - Can't access 'Internet Radio' Sounds like it hasn't got a MySB.com account registration after all. If you navigate to Settings Advanced Diagnostics, you can tell if you have a mysqueezebox.com registration, and you can find the IP address of the MySB.com server. You can also try Settings Advanced Networking, and see if you have an option to switch to Mysqueezebox.com. - Can't access 'My Music' Maybe it can't find your network. Are you using Wireless? Setup doesn't care about local music. The first time you try to use My Music it will search for a local music source to connect to. - Can't access 'Favorites' Favorites depends on what music source you are connected to. Of course, you are never quite sure what source you are connected to (and it sounds like you aren't connected to any). i.e. if you were on MySB.com, you would have MySB.com favorites (and initially there wouldn't be any). If you had connected to a local source, you would have your SBS favorites. When I press 'More' when listening to an internet radio station a window opens up with information, but after the radio's been on for a bit the window will pop up empty. If I reboot it works but then stops working again after a while. I've noticed this recently too. Something wrong with internet radio information display. Alternatively, sometimes I just get a URN for the radio station (on classic players). I do not have the server software on my machine nor do I want to install it - I just want to listen to internet radio from my garage. That explains why you can't access My Music. My Music means Squeezebox Server (i.e. the server software). Confusing isn't it, because in your case, you probably consider Mysqueezebox.com to be My Music. Hopefully someone can help me out here, otherwise this Radio's going back to Amazon with a negative review. I'm sure you can eventually get what you need from the device - it is good and worth keeping. However, the setup and access isn't as easy to understand as previous devices (in my opinion, it's got more complicated). According to Diagnostics mysqueezebox.com has an IP and mysqueezebox.com registration is Registered. Plus I can control my radio from mysqueezebox.com. But for some reason I can't access Intenet Radio - Music, Favorites, my ShoutCast/DI.fm apps, or Settings Advanced Squeezebox Information. Just get that spinning circle that spins forever. I also can't see a switch to Mysqueezebox.com in Settings Advanced Networking. Maybe it's my network? I'm not a network guru. Obviously the radio's connected to the internet, I can listen to my presets and I can control the radio from mysb.com, but after a few minutes of use it seems the radio can't reach out to the mysb.com server? Just throwing ideas out there... Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] alarm is not working reliable
if my server goes down i get NO backup alarm. I am shocked about this. I own a ton of squeeze devices and this is so basic how can i rely on my internet connection and server to wake me up in the AM? I mean i need this good job so i can continue to afford to buy their products and to not have a reliable backup alarm if the network goes down?? -- bigmdime bigmdime's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4956 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71585 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

I also can't see a switch to Mysqueezebox.com in Settings Advanced Networking. I think that means that it is currently connected to Mysqueezebox.com (or you haven't got an account, but it seems like you did register an account). ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Nice tip, but shouldn't the custom wallpaper be with the others in: /usr/share/jive/applets/SetupWallpaper/wallpaper -- Tony T Tony T's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34544 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70940 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm only works when connected to mysqueezebox?
jmpage2;483307 Wrote: The Radio alarm is proven to WORK even if there is no internet or server connectivity. There is even a local alarm sound that will function if the selected playback media is unavailable. I can't get the backup alarm to fire. I do not have a sb server, just a wireless internet connection with the SB Radio connecting to mysqueezbox.com. If my router and wireless is powered-down, when the SB Radio Alarm triggers first a screen flashes with the no network screen, then the Alarm Snooze / Off Screen, BUT, no back-up alarm. (also tried a factory reset).
