[SlimDevices: Radio] Radio not playing library m4a music
I have a Squeezebox Boom which works perfect. It plays all my library music. My new Squeezebox Radio does not however. I get an error saying: Problem: File cannot open or something of that order. It plays radio strems fine and it knows whats in the library, album art and all. My m4a's are created using Easy CDDA Extrator and AACPlus 192. I fully rescan the library every day and the server software is the latest version, the radio firmware is the latest version. Anyone had that issue before? -- plsm plsm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30611 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72441 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio not playing library m4a music
m4a files have to be transcoded on PC for Boom but they should play natively on Radio - perhaps Radio cannot handle the AAC format. What is the app AACplus 192 - it sounds like the streaming version of AAC has been used for a file. Does Radio play the file if native AAC is disabled (change Web UI Settings/Advanced/Filetypes/AAC anbd click Appl) ? -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72441 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

AACPlus in Easy CDDA Extractor is m4a or m4b files. I use this format as it plays in iTunes and iPod, but is better quality with a smaller file size than AAC. I'll try your suggestion asap. What you said about the Boom makes me think that maybe, for this particular file format, that the two devices might not work off the same server due to the transcoding... which would be very irritating as the Logitech site doesn't warn you of that issue... if that is indeed the issue. -- plsm plsm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30611 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72441 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio not playing library m4a music
Something strange with the spec because IIRC AACplus spec says it should not be used over speeds of 128 as at higher speeds AAC gives better quality/bit. If the problem goes away when disabling native then I think you should log a bug with an example file as an attachment so that Logictech can test the native decoder which is from a commercial 3rd party and I think different to the decoder (faad) on the PC. AFAIK The information about what is supported and transcoded is included on web site - just that users do not understand what it means in practice. For most users the transcoding is not an issue - the only Logitech supported system where it matters are ReadyNAS systems. For other NAS users who have ported over SBS themselves - generally they can get a version of faad to work on their system. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72441 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

aubuti;494062 Wrote: This is just silly. As has been stated elsewhere, the devs are working 100% on SB Touch until it is released, and work on all non-Touch bugs is on hold. There's also the little matter that neither the devs nor the execs are all yanks, and several work at corporate HQ in Switzerland, which isn't part of the EU, but isn't exactly in North America either. Just out of curiosity it would be interesting to know if SB ownership on the two sides of the pond is anything like the 5:3 population ratio. Even if you seem to think that this is silly for some weird reasons that I don't want to discuss: Not working on something is different from ignoring it. If there was at least one bug report about the MYSB issue that is not declared a duplicate and that is worked on and assigned to a release, I would feel much better about this issue. This is btw. also the difference to the no alarm due to loss of internet connection issue that troubles the folks across the pond: For this problem, there are at least bug reports existing and assigned. So yes, I think this is ignored because it happens in Europe. I would really appreciate if the developers in Switzerland would change this attitude. But currently this doesn't seem to be the case for whatever reason. -- 0xdeadbeef 0xdeadbeef's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2287 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72393 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] 2 non serious issues
(don't worry I'm not going to return it in a fit of peak!) 1. There is a massive delay of up to a minute between my DAB radio and the SB Radio. Is this down to my internet connection or something else? 2. I have the FB app, and the photos appear as part of the screensaver. It works fine for a while, but I tend to notice it gets stuck forever on a photo. Why is this? -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72446 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Weak sound with ipod earbuds
The sound is VERY weak using my ipod earbuds - even with sound level turned to MAX. Is there a way to increase the sound level to headphones output ? -- Yachats Yachats's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34884 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72463 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

squeezyjim;494397 Wrote: However, it is intermittent, and IMHO don't think it has ANYTHING to do with losing internet nor wireless connection, neither with the server nor the internet, but with all intermittent bugs its a hard one to track. Cheers Jim I do not have a Squeezebox Server, My SB Radio is connected via wireless. If I power-down my router and wireless, when the alarm triggers, a screen flashes with the no network screen, then the Alarm Snooze / Off Screen, BUT, no back-up alarm. Not intermittent, this is an easy fix.
