Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Love the Boom - HATE the Radio
I have had the blue icon a few times and looking at the onscreen menu which displays the IP information it has picked up a werid IP address which is not in the range of my router. Not sure if this means it is connecting to another wireless router - I would prefer to have the option to select a fixed IP address as per the boom and SB3. I find that I need to reboot the router and then reboot the radio and it connects straight away. With 7.5 it has been up now for over 2 days with no issues. This is a random thing and not something I have been able to pin down. Could just be my old router. I have now made sure that the router select the same IP address for the radio based on the MAC address. -- vdeknock vdeknock's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4467 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76980 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm Reliability --> Obvious Modification
You can change the internal noise it makes. It should be an option that can be adjusted from the menus but is not. I agree you should have a few options. Some instructions have been posted with a location on the net to find the beep-beep-beep tone. It requires you to use putty to access the radio internal file structure and it is just a replacement of a single file. -- vdeknock vdeknock's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4467 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76992 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm volume
Has anybody experienced strangeness with alarm volume on the Radio? I am running 7.5 but I noticed this problem on 7.4.2 as well. When I set the alarm volume with the Radio and then change the now playing volume the alarm volume mirrors the change. I will get a loud alarm if I turn up the now playing volume, even if I initially set the alarm volume low. The volume settings seem to work in tandem. Changing the alarm volume will also change the now playing volume. The setting on mysqueezebox.com does not seem to effect the behavior at all. Am I doing something wrong? But I can't play things like Pandora, or certain radio stations that don't provide URLs to link to but do provide bundling with internet radio support (like some of the Squeezebox sources). [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm Reliability --> Obvious Modification
All I have had Squeezebox Radio for a little over month and I have given up using it as a reliable alarm. I run the SqueezeServer from a ReadyNAS Pro which is absolutely fine; the ReadyNAS Pro is powered down on an internal timer throughout the night and set to wake up 20mins or so before my usual alarm time. The disks are set to spindown after 10mins of inactivity. Despite explicitly setting an alarm tone, most of the time I get a default alarm time. I think this is because the Squeezebox is unable to wake the Readynas Pro and trigger the selected alarm. Reading the forum I have read many reports of the alarm being unreliable. HERE IS THE SUGGESTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM All you need to do is to allow the user to save short alarm tones within the Squeezebox Radio and select them when setting the alarm tine. This would mean that the Squeezebox Radio would not necessarily need a network connection to play your selected alarm. And for goodness sake, why isnt there a simple beep-beep-beep alarm tone ? I am really frustrated with the whole alarm aspect of it, other than that it is fantastic ! [SlimDevices: Radio] Fallback alarm and SBR off after firmware update to 7.5
Hi everybody. This morning the radio failed to play the channel set for the alarm and played the fallback alarm instead. After this, it asked me to update to the new firmware version 7.5! This sounds quite strange. After the update it isnt able anymore to connect to mySB! Tryed to reset to factory settings with no success, as I rember it came with version 7.4.3 and now, after the reset the fw version is still 7.5. Then I had to go to work, so I unplugged it! Damn!
