Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Video of SBRadio Bugs and Glitches

2010-05-22 Thread JJZolx

Are you using mysqueezebox.com when all this happens?

That's not a backlight problem. You're looking at two different
screensavers. See Settings > Screen > Screensavers > When stopped (and
When off). The 'Digital Clock' screensaver, which I believe is the
default for stopped, is set on a graduated gray background. The
'Digital Clock (Black)' screensaver is on an all black background.

Why you're seeing the two is another question. Could one be set as the
off screensaver and the other when stopped?

Problems syncing settings with mysb.com might be another explanation.
That seems to be a big problem right now with the Touch, the Radio and
mysqueezebox.com. When you turn the Radio on it's probably not
connected to mysb.com, so you get whatever the player thinks is the
stopped screensaver (on the gray background). When you connect with
mysb.com, you get the screensaver according to the setting on the
mysb.com servers. They should sync up (I think) but apparently don't.

Thanks for the response. Not sure that's the case, though. I
unplugged the Radio (largely since I was afraid the battery might be
entirely drained otherwise) for half a day and then plugged it back in.
It powered up (I did not upgrade the firmware and am running the same
version I listed earlier) and then started charging the battery.
Everything is working fine now... Weird, but not a shock frankly...

Possibly, you might need to check the "Show all 3rd party plugins"
checkbox in SBS Settings/Plugins, but besides that you shouldn't have
to do anything special as long as you run SBS 7.5.x.

Yes, that's correct.

Have you tried to reboot it a second time after the installation ?

The behavior you describe is how it works when it can't reach the
server for some reason, I've seen it myself in some case but then the
"My Music" menu hasn't worked. Anyway, a reboot has always solved it
for me.

I just upgraded to the latest 7.5.1 firmware and it works in my setup
also with that version, so it shouldn't have anything to do with the
firmware version you are using.

Yes exactly. It says "Patch Installer (QNAP)". QNAP is how my

Below this comes a short description, then there is "No patches found"

That's all.

I've always found that the best way to get something done is to call

[SlimDevices: Radio] [Radio Alarm] What does this error message mean?

2010-05-22 Thread TheRooster2000

Hi all!

This morning - once again - my Radio played the backupp alarm sound
instead of the configured internet radio station. The last couple of
days it worked fine, though. The only thing that is different is the
alarm time which is 08:30 on Saturday instead of 06:20 on weekdays. The
configured radio station stayed the same.

SbS logfile gave the following error message:

[10-05-22 08:30:22.7267] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Remote::__ANON__ (237)
Error: Can't connect to remote server to retrieve playlist for,
http://ndr.ic.llnwd.net/stream/ndr_ndrinfo_hi_mp3: Connect timed out:
Inappropriate ioctl for device.

I wonder what this means! Can anyboby explain? What is "ioctl"?
Although it says that it cannot connect to the desired stream I could
start the same stream some seconds later manually...

Strange!

I must be lucky with my Radio - I've never had any of these issues.
Sorry to hear of your problems. What are you going to get instead? The
big downside of Sonos for me is the lack of a display. Not an issue if
you always have a controller to hand, but having multiple IR remotes
kicking around and the ability to control from the device directly
makes the Squeezebox platform much more flexible IMO.

I still think the Boom is a much better product than Radio. Shame there
isn't a battery pack for it.

[SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio the Green Alternative

2010-05-22 Thread Nicola Tesla

This is just great, to receive about half the AM stations in the US

all is well and perhaps we need to post a bug fix, Idiots like AndyG
need to get off there ass and make the SBR function in the most basic

An more "improvements" to the firmware will render the SBR completely
