Do you have the same problem if you play the same music stream normally
and not through the alarm ?

Do you have the same problem independent which type of internet radio
station you configure to be played when the alarm triggers ?

What does the display indicate after you have snoozed it ? If I
remember correctly there is some indication that the alarm is snoozed
and not turned off. I need to check to know exactly how it looks like
since I'm not using snooze myself, maybe someone else knows ?

Try with an ethernet cable to see if the local network causes the
problems.

Do you only see the problem when you turn it off when something is
playing or do you have the same problem if it's stopped before you turn
it off ?

I'm guessing it won't turn on spontaneously if you shut it down
completely ?
So the problem where the Radio is turned on after a few seconds only
happens when you activate the off screen saver ?
Which screen saver do you use as the off screen saver ?

Erland - thanks so much for taking the time to help with this. The
responses might take a little bit of time. I want to make sure that I
give you accurate responses. Some issues happen only frequently rather
than all the time. Give me a few days.

Also, I received a reply from tech support on my expression of
frustration about why they made me swap the hardware. Their response
was they were trying to eliminate the hardware as an issue. They have
also asked me a number of questions about readings from the diagnostic
screens such as Power readings, MAC address, etc. I'll keep you posted
on this as well.

Thanks again!

How long ago was this order? In the US? Mine was placed May 12th and
still nothing.

I was at a friend's house last evening and his Radio battery showed up
unannounced last week. I believe he'd ordered it in April.

He'd phoned Logitech about two weeks ago to inquire about the order
status and was told nothing was in stock and they had no information
regarding availability.

He has no clue as to whether the phone call was a squeaky wheel that
got some grease or if the Logitech customer support people are kept
clueless, whether by design or accident.

I suspect the latter. Logitech is a fascinating organization to watch.
They seem to be at the forefront in finding ways to irritate their
customers. You'd think people were waiting for a custom-built Bugatti
Veyron instead of a battery pack ;-)

[SlimDevices: Radio] iTunes: plays only 1 song at time

2010-07-11 Thread marieboyer

I cannot get my squeezebox radio to play more than one song at a time.
How can I make sure that it plays a whole album or playlist as opposed
to stopping at the end of one song?

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

2010-07-11 Thread marieboyer

Thank you for your incredibly quick response. I have checked my
"player" settings and they are correct. So, my problem is not the
settings.

Any other ideas?

This defect renders the device almost useless. (I have it in a window
for a party and it stops playing after 1 song. I may have to send it
back.)

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] iTunes: plays only 1 song at time

2010-07-11 Thread garym

You should be able to play the entire album (or even many albums). I
suspect something is just off in how you are selecting the albums to
play. In the web interface to SqueezeboxServer (SbS) are you seeing the
entire album's tracks listed on the right hand side of the screen (the
playlist)? Make sure you see all the album's songs there and not just
one. It almost sounds like you are selecting music at the track level
vs the album level. But again, you should see all the selected tracks
in your playlist window. I'm sure this is something very simple in how
you are using the interface as this is not a common problem. But I
understand your frustration.

I am not sure how to "see" the album information from the web server.
I have gone into the web server interface and I cannot see how to do
that.

I will go out and try the Squeezebox one more time to see if you are
right. I hope so.

Can you tell me, by way of example, what you mean by my doing it
incorrectly from the start.

I have a feeling you are right about this. And I really appreciate
your help.

On machine where you are running squeezeboxserver, right click on the
taskbar icon and choose web interface (or something similar). This
should open your web browser. On left side you should see your library,
Internet radio, etc. On the right side you'll see your playlist. Be sure
to select your radio in the dropdown menu on upper right side of
browser.

I could not figure out the web-server mode you described.

I did go back to the Squeezebox, though, with your advice in mind, and
re-tried using album mode. It played the whole album in that mode. I
was in "artist" mode when it was playing one song at a time, even
though I told it to play "all songs" of that artist. Guess it cannot
do that.

Thanks a million for your help.
