There is a work around I have been using. To get reliability and listen
to internet radio, use 2 alarms instead of 1.

Set 1st alarm at the time you want to wake up. Use local sound file or
 internal sound.

Set 2nd alarm one minute later to the internet stream for listening.

Yes thank you Honva.

But as I understand it this is the same as iPhone explained earlier in
this thread. :)
Seems to work perfectly.

Still, I'm a little in doubt to look for another internet radio
featured device with alarm clock and get a refund on the squeezebox.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Better/bigger font when using remote?

2010-08-03 Thread Aslak3

See:

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74689highlight=bigger+text

Erland took my patch and included it in his patch installer applet.
Use that to apply it.

It's not a general solution and does not make the text bigger when
using the remote, it just makes some key items of text bigger all the
time: album name, title, clock at the bottom etc.

And despite my best efforts, Logitech won't take the patch.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Other Players, Choose Player and Synchronize etc. Options

2010-08-03 Thread dalevandy

Sorry about this newbie post. I was exploring the menu items on my two
Squeezebox Radios. There is an option called Other Players (Extras |
Switch Player) and one called Other Players (Extras | Other
Players).

There is also an option called Choose Player (Settings | Choose
Player). When I choose this, I get options for each of my 2 players.

I do not understand what each one of these does. One of the times when
I was exploring the settings, and my alarms for each individual player
were duplicated on the other radio. Also, the presets were changed,
etc.

If someone could explain to me in detail what each player does with
each option, I would appreciate it.

I have 2 players, Player 1 and Player 2. Here are the options:

Extras | Other Players | Player 2 |

Then I have 4 choices: Grab Playlist from Player 2; Send Playlist to
Player 2; Power; Sync with Player 2

Switch Player Menu:

Extras | Switch Player | From Player 2 (or To Player 2 depending on?)

Also:

Settings | Choose Player | Player 1 (or Player 2, depending on?)

Does this make sense?

Thanks!

Extras | Other Players | Player 2 |

Player 2; Power; Sync with Player 2
=== Pretty self explanatory, isn't it?

Switch Player Menu:

Extras | Switch Player | From Player 2 (or To Player 2 depending on?)
=== Switches which player is being controlled by your input. Your
Radio is also a Controller where you can use player 1 to control what
Player 2 does.
Or vice versa.

Also:

Settings | Choose Player | Player 1 (or Player 2, depending on?)
=== UI settings changes for the chosen player, depending on which
players settings you wish to change ;)

The War is OVER – CASE CLOSED!

Day 119 of the lost Station Art, - After more agony and stupidity and a
greater lack of customer support than I have ever received with ANY
PRODUCT that I’ve ever owned, I’ve completely solved the problem!

I went out and purchased a BRAND NEW Squeezebox Radio, turned it on and
downloaded the latest firmware update, (Ver. 7.5.1 r8837). Bingo,
everything is working perfectly and all my colored Station Art is
acting as it should. Life is good. I am now convinced that it is a
hardware or memory problem and no amount of talk can EVER fix that.

Problem solved,
See how simple it was,- and I didn’t even need to talk to Tech Support
on the other side of the World!

Case Closed,

PS – I should have solved this a LONG TIME AGO!!

Check in with us in a few weeks or so and tell us if you still believe
this. I've owned my SBR 2 months, and the first few weeks or so, my
station art worked fine. But hasn't worked right since.

I have a preset for a Pandora stream that will ALWAYS display station
art, and when I switch from it to any other stream that sends station
art, the artwork will always display. But if I switch to a station
that does not provide station artwork and then go to one that does, SBR
will not display it. So if I'm hell bent on the artwork displaying, I
go to the Pandora station first. Otherwise, I just don't care
anymore.

One other thing I noticed, there is an artwork setting that can choose
small artwork and/or large artwork. No matter what you do to this
setting, it always reverts to both checked...

Make sure that you are connected to the local server, it sounds like it
still users the mysqueezebox.com web site (which is using 7.5.1).

 Try this:
 1. Make sure your server is running
 2. Browse into My Music/Albums, make sure it connects to your server
and shows the albums on it
 3. Restart the Radio by holding the power button for a few seconds and
then push it again to startup the Radio again.

Hopefully, it will connect to your server and offer you the 7.4.2
 firmware after this.

I have tried again and it is the same.
My server is running. I can browse and play my albums in the library.
Restarted the radio as instructed but software update still says
7.5.1r8837 as the latest software. The only option is to re-install
7.5.1r8837 firmware.

Looks like logitech had dropped the option to go back to earlier
firmware for the radio.
