[SlimDevices: Radio] Possible? Reset everything and start from scratch (SB Radio + SB Server)?
Due to some problems I have in the last weeks, I want to ask if it is possible to uninstall everything, clear the Logitech registry settings and install everything from scratch again? I've got a SB Radio and SBS is running (more or less) on OpenSUSE 11.2. ([ur]http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81106[/url]). I think somethings has been mixed up, due to several installations/updates of the SBS, so maybe it's the only solution to start again from scratch. 1) How can I clear everything which belongs to SBS on OpenSUSE? (only de-installation and re-installation of the RPM doesn't work) 2) Is it possible to reset everything on the SB Radio (including the firmware)? Can you offer any suggestions. > > Also, is Nancy Grace available? Ikabob - Like you I have found getting the correct URL to be problematic. It seems to be very random. Some sites are very clear about their subscription URLs and others act like they don't want you to know. Sometimes the subscription URL ends in .xml; others are rss feeds. You sort of have to thrash around and experiment. Sometimes the feed won't play on the radio because it is in a format that requires special proprietorial software to play or because is a video feed. I am afraid that Nancy Grace is a video feed. I couldn't get it to play. An easy way to get the correct feed is to go to http://www.podcastalley.com/index.php and either browse or search for what you want then click on subscribe and up will come a page with the subscription URL in a box. Just past it into the "add a feed" box on the Podcast Player app and add it. You can also try using the Mediafly app. I used for a while but it was so user hostile I gave it up in frustration. But you can use http://mediafly.com/Welcome to get ideas of podcasts that you may want to subscribe to. If you see one you like that has a tiny headphone icon (to indicate audio), you can click on it and where it says "show details" there will be a little orange icon for the rss feed. If you right click on that and copy the location, you can paste that URL into the Podcast Player app and that should subscribe you and that way you can bypass using the Mediafly app if you can't stand it. It is all kind of hit or miss, but what can you expect with everyone in the universe out there on the web doing their own thing. It is really kind of cool, but I keep feeling that I am missing something if I don't listen to them all. Now press preset 3 (you'll get the antenna tower since this station does not have artowrk). Now return to either 1 or 2. Neither will display it's artwork after coming from preset 3. And yes, sometimes, rarely, it will. Also, on occasion the station artwork will display underneath the "Preset #" box that appears right after you press the preset, but the artwork goes away 3-5 seconds later. Note that this doesn't just happen with presets (happens with favorites too), but used presets to make it easy to refer to. [SlimDevices: Radio] various problems MySqueezebox.com / Squeezebox Server
Hi, I'm not quite sure if this is the correct section, or if I had to post it in the MySqueezebox/Squeezebox Server/Linux section. I already opened a thread in the Linux section http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81025, because of problems starting the SBS on OpenSUSE 11.2. Now I've got another strange problem. On Monday I updated my SBR to the newest firmware. After this my problems still appeared, i.e. the SBR interrupts playing radiostations after a few minutes. Then I made a reset of the SBR. This morning I wanted to try to switch to SBS on my Linux-PC, but I couldn't switch the SBR from mysqueezebox to SBS. A message on the SBR appeared, saying that I need to download + install SBS (but it is already installed + running). I tried several times to switch - without success. Then I de-installed SBS and installed again. I opened the webinterface in Firefox and had to login with my mysqueezebox details. But... I got the message, that the account details wouldn't be valid. Really strange, because I can login on mysqueezebox.com without problems. It seems that the SBS can't connect to mysqueezebox, so I can't switch my SBR to SBS. So... my main problems are 1) problems switching to SBS/to mysqueezebox 2) many interrupts while playing internet radiostations Maybe someone could help me. Thanks! Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Not as many complaints?
Whatever update was pushed yesterday has royally screwed-up my box (which was working fine before the update). Before yesterday's update about the only issues I had were: 1. Random stopping of streaming afterwhile. (Happened rarely) 2. Random no-audio (would have to reboot to fix). (rare) 3. Random playing of the back-up alert even when my server was up and running fine. Now I have the following MAJOR issues: 1. Random playing of radio stations (Pandora). Will play a song then cut out for a random amount of time (including hours) before playing again. This scared my wifey half to death lastnight. 2. No artwork from any of my Pandora stations while playing. 3. I set all alarms to off last night but they all still played this morning. (very annoying!!)
