Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] How I've temporarily solved my wireless issues

2010-09-17 Thread toby10

Needing your computer to not sleep just to maintain a connection between
your Radio and your router seems very strange.
- Are you using some sort of Internet Connection Sharing through your
computer?
- Are you using a WiFi router as the AP? I presume you are.
- Are you sure the Radio is losing it's WiFi connection, or is it
losing it's connection to your SBS server?
Radio's WiFi indicator colors:
Red = not connected to your network (router)
Blue = connected to your network, but not connected to a server (SBS or
MySB)
White = connected to your network and connected to a server (SBS or
MySB)

You are correct that the MAC address is the same for both wired and
wireless, I just verified this myself. I never noticed that before.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Unable to connect to MySB.com

2010-09-17 Thread toby10

I'd try power cycling your Radio: press hold Power button till you see
Goodbye on the screen, turn it back on, try again.

If that doesn't work try power cycling your router (unplug it, plug it
back in).

If still no go there are some other things to look into. ;)

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio and LAN

2010-09-17 Thread toby10

I just had this problem switching from WiFi to wired to respond to
another post.
Radio gives me the same we don't see a DHCP when trying to
switch to wired via Network Choose Network Wired

But a simple power cycle of the Radio solved it for me, connected via
wired automatically upon power up.
Switching back to WiFi worked as expected.

Note: My router does all DHCP handling.

[SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio, ports

2010-09-17 Thread ad6922

Hello All,

I've a SB Duet and Radio. They are both wireless connected.

My Radio is next to my router and has a much better connection then my
Duet
But my Radio is a lot of time not connected (red light for the
connection) where as my Duet is always working.

I do not understand what the reason is and how I can fix it.

I read somewhere that you should open port 3483 and port 9000 to enable
playing the SB Radio.

Question 1: Is that true as I have never done that for my always
working Duet?

Question 2: If so, are there settings in the QNAP that needs to be set
to open ports, as I have tried to open the ports
but my port 9000 is still blocked (even if I shut down the complete
firewall, which makes me think that I can set
this in my QNAP)

Hi Toby, thanks for getting back to me.I tried both of those suggestions
but still cannot connect. When I go into the MySB.com website, and look
on Players it shows the radio as disconnected. Any more ideas?

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Bug reports for 7.5.1.r9009

2010-09-17 Thread ScottShelby

Just recently bought the Radio and had no idea about the number of
issues this device is still having. However I haven't seen any mention
that their Power Button doesn't do anything at all. I don't know if
this is an isolated case or not, but regardless of what is going on at
the time the Power Button does nothing. I also have the alarm bug.

So do I, which makes it all the more annoying. It always uses the
fallback alarm instead of Radio 4, I stop the alarm, press preset 4,

absolutely rock solid - everything has been up for over a month, 100%
uptime (since I last rebooted due to updates). The Touch, Booms and
SB3 always work, as does the Xtreamer for streaming video, and it acts
as a file server perfectly. It really is just the Radio.

I've had exactly the same problem on my Radio for the last couple of
weeks (running SBS latest 7.6 nightly), but with WNYC as my stream.

I think there is a general SBS problem about using BBC iPlayer favorites
as alarm. If you want to play a BBC stations as an alarm - I think you
should use the WMA stream from BBC App.

2010-09-17 Thread dave1701

ditto. I my radio has alarm problems too. Also I think I found another
one.

When I hit conect to server, and it can't connect, the selection choose
another library just makes it try to connect to the same server again.
There are 2 selections, try again, and choose another library. They
both do the same thing.

I am happy to report all is now working ok. I did a factory reset with
my SQB Server off line. During setup I was taken to MYSQB.com to enter
my e mail and password. This had not happened during the original

Thanks.

Nice idea but makes no difference.

This really is a great big piece of crap, alarm sometimes works
sometimes doesn't whether via SBS or not.

But now no radio stream will play as it comes up with the blurb
'connection reset by local host etc'

Yet boom in same room plays the same stream faultlessly in an
instant!!

Time for a refund I think

Power button is working fine for me. Have you connected to MySB.com
and updated the Firmware of your Radio?

Power Button:
quick press = standby, displays whatever is set for standby
screensaver
long press = OFF, says GOODBYE on screen, then no screen till you press
Power again to turn it ON
