Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Headphone Output
The headphone output on my Radio is definitely not quite as loud as the one on the Boom. However it goes as loud as I would ever want headphones to go and more importantly doesn't distort in the way that some cheap and nasty devices would when turned up to close to 100%. But yes, I do need to turn it up to 75+ to get the volume I want. And that is on relatively sensitive headphones. -- andynormancx Yes, it will. Yes, all of them. Yes, SoftSqueeze as well. What ? [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio Alarm Questions/Issues
I have been using multiple alarms for the last month with pretty good results. I have alarm 1 set for Mon-Fri 6AM and alarm 2 for Sat/Sun 9AM. I play a stream from Favorites that is a commercial FM station (KFOG). I'm on the latest firmware and I use mySB as the server. My problems begin after the alarm is triggered which is a positive. How should I shut the alarm off? If I use the dial and select turn off alarm, the alarm will shut off until 6:01 and then it will start playing the stream again. It seems like turning off the alarm should disable it until the next day, not the next minute. I've also tried hitting the power button, but I get the same result. On the other hand, if I let the alarm play (let's say I like the song), it will shut off at 6:01. I know it's a nit, but I'm hoping I have configured something wrong and I can correct this behavior. -- steve781 steve781's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84873 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] alarm without popup?
I recently replaced an Clarus Plus with a Squeezebox Radio, to start playing a random selection of music at about 8AM in the spare room, which just happens to be where I get dressed in the morning. The Clarus streams from SBS just fine, but has a poor display. I got fed up of coming downstairs, wondering what's that that's playing and needing to go to a computer to find out. So, this morning I'm in that situation. I go to my shiny new SB Radio, only to find that the Now Playing display is obscured by a popup asking me to either Snooze or End Alarm. If I had been woken up by this, there's no way I'd be able to manipulate the scroll wheel/button: if I were coding a special mode for the alarm it would have to be something like press any button and the radio plays louder. :) What I really want is to just have the radio switch on at a predetermined time. I don't need any snoozes, or fade-ins, I just want it playing already when I stagger downstairs, and I want to be able to see what it's playing. How do I accomplish this? Surely not cron and CLI? -- pallfreeman Oi! You! The sig separator is where you're supposed to stop reading. Hi, I set the alarm on my Radio at 6:30 today 18th of January. As usual the Fallback alarm fired instead of the radio stream. Note that when I select the radio stream, for example by hitting the preset buttons - there is no problem connecting to the radio station. It usually takes just 3-4 seconds max. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] My SBR alarm blog
But almost no radiostations at all start within a second ? Most buffer a while before start-up even rock solid good stations ? A station must be allowed some initial buffer time. If I take radio paradise and and a stopwatch from pressing play watching buffer fill up then audio it is 6-7 seconds, this is true for most stations only radio close to me like Sveriges Radio P3 Street starts within 2 seconds. Other buffer for a even longer time ? You can not consider a stream dead until the user selectable max buffer time has timed out: default 3s max 30s or the Radio Station Timeout o to 60 seconds . It can be so that by allowing long buffertimes you get long start-up times as the player buffers untill the buffer is 100% or the buffer time is reached, whichever come first . I have the buffertime maxed out as I think it's fun to try mysterius station around the globe :) Radio Station Buffer Seconds When playing an Internet stream, the player buffers a small amount of data before beginning playback. Specify the amount of audio data to buffer, in seconds from 3 to 30. The default value is 3 seconds. If you experience stuttering audio, increasing this value may help. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] I still dont understand why I cant get 970 am wgtk
There are numerous ways to attempt to hunt down a rogue URL - email the station and ask for a direct stream URL (not embedded player on their site) - see if their web site has URL's for media players (WMP, iTunes, WinAmp) - use a URL sniffer if all they have is an embedded player (finds the actual direct stream URL, sometimes) Or just search for the station info from a number of online music streaming services, click on their play link, media player launches, plays that stream, double click stream name for URL info, cut paste as needed. www.ShoutCast.com (or WinAmp, same thing) www.RadioTime.com (kinda redundant as this is what SqueezeBox uses) www.Reciva.com http://vtuner.com/setupapp/guide/asp/BrowseStations/Searchform.asp http://dir.xiph.org/index.php And sometimes, after all that, you still cannot find a SB playable URL or no URL exists other than their embedded player. Even SBS server can help. If it's an AAC stream it won't show up when on MySB but may well show up if on SBS, cut paste into MySB Favorites (note: only works with Radio and Touch) -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84731 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
