Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] How can listen to the rtsp stream?

2011-01-20 Thread bpa

The rtsp prefix is used by a number of protocols including, RealAudio,
Apple and an internet standard.

When BBC used RealAudio stream - they had the rtsp:// prefix -
REalAudio was support using the AlienBBC plugin. The BBC have now
stopped using RealAudio and now the BBC iPlayer plugin support
Flash/Audio which uses the rtmp:// prefix. The BBC plugins will not
help you.

Your stream is odd/unusual as it seems to be a standard rtsp which
encapsulates a WMA stream. I think this is the way Microsoft is trying
to get users to use a MS specific stream having stopped supporting
their earlier proprietary mms protocol. AFAIK there is no SBS plugin
support for this MS rtsp format.

However if you use a local SBS server with WMA transcoding support.
Disable Windows Media "native" under WebUI Settings/Advanced/Filetypes
and then the stream will play if you use the mms version of the URL
mms://alive.rbc.cn/fm974

I'm guessing I'd need to repeat this every time I install a new

Thanks for the tip, but I do UNIX admin for food, including Solaris, so
any mention of "patching" has me reaching for a cross and some garlic.

How would "Home" do what you want if it popped you out to the Home
menu? You'd lose the song information display until the Now Playing
screensaver kicked back in or until you navigated back to Now Playing.

IMO the way it works makes a lot of sense. If you want to keep sleeping
you just click the knob and it resets the sleep timer. To turn the alarm
off completely requires slightly more thought, but it's not much
different than my electronic alarm clock where you have to locate a
switch and move it the correct position.

IIRC, there is an option on the radio to repatch after upgrades.

h might be an EU issue. Long shot, but try uninstalling

Worth a shot. :(

it is patching the firmware source so you are correct to be a bit
concerned. You can always return to the original by doing a factory
reset.

Unfortunately, Logitech hasn't prioritized applying the necessary patch
to the original firmware yet, so this means that users who want to get
rid of the popup need to patch it themselves.

As mentioned, there is an option to re-apply patches after a firmware
upgrade i "Patch Installer" menu.

Yeah, seems hit & miss, my Genre's and subs are all working fine. My

But some of the menu items do give the "userdata" error. But the 320k
bitrate selection is working now. :)

Same problem for me. Michael suggested first that we're eventually use
test.mysb.com because Shoutcast is not working there. I've a test
account but no player is connected to test.mysb.com and I check at
www.mysb.com.

That's it, switched from no filter to a filter and I get a result.

In my case, I started with 'no filtering' set which gave me no stations
in any genre. After I changed the bitrate filter to 32kbps, I started to
see stations as normal. After changing the setting back to 'no
filtering', I can still see the same stations so the main issue seems
to be fixed for me.

However, even with 'no filtering' set, I cannot find (for example)
Radio Dismuke which broadcasts at 24kbps so there still seems to be an
issue with bitrate filtering.

The mysqueezebox.com interface works only intermittently for me at the
moment, but it seems more reliable with the bitrate filter set to
32kbps.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Need help getting stations WTKK and WGY

2011-01-20 Thread Jim - SBR

I just got a Squeezebox radio, and I've been trying for hours to access
WTKK 96.9 FM (Boston) and WGY 103.1 FM (Albany).

WTKK link: http://www.969bostontalks.com/listenSTW/
WGY link: http://www.wgy.com/mediaplayer/

These links both give me the error, "This stream returned an unknown
content type..."

WTKK uses Stream The World.

Please help!
