Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio or other?
wow - that was quick. Thanks for all replies. Not one dissenting voice - so Radio it is then. Only £101 on Amazon, so might just sort that out today. Only downside I can see is that I'll get even less access to my Spotify stream than I do today. :-( -- Hobgoblin 2 Receivers 1 Controller Squeezebox Server 7.5.2: Acer Revo R3600 running Ubuntu Server Edition 10.4 Hobgoblin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36018 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86405 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Improve Headphone Out Quality or Add TOSLINK
I know that generally a Touch, Transporter or SB2/3 is better for audio out quality. That being said I have two SB3s and one SB Radio. When I first purchased the SB Radio I wanted to use it as it's designed. Since then my needs have changed and I wanted to know if anybody else has tried or had any success in modifying the audio out capabilities of the SB Radio. I once soldered in an op-amp and got COAX digital out on my Dish 3100 receiver, so I presume it wouldn't be a big stretch to do something similar with the SB Radio. I was thinking to either modify the headphone out or just simply add the coax connector on the back. Any feedback/suggestions? -- illusion8055 illusion8055's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2569 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86413 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Improve Headphone Out Quality or Add TOSLINK
I know this is not what you are asking, but wouldn't it be easier to just sell the Radio, and purchase a used SB3. The net cost would likely be almost nothing. Or better yet, think about a TOUCH! Of course, it may be that you get enjoyment from these sort of projects and that's good too. Reminds me of a guy in my neighborhood in the 1970s that transplanted a small-block Chevy V8 into his Chevy Vega. Possible yes. Cost effective? No, considering his time. A good idea? Probably not. -- garym garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86413 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

How about a small headphone amp like a Fiio E5? -- hunta hunta's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=333 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86413 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radiotime problems
Your link is to a web player not a playable URL, your Radio cannot play from a web player. On your Radio go to Internet Radio Search *gold*, scroll to station, press Play I can't get it to play but maybe you can. If it does play then add that to Favorites from the Radio. If it does not play report it as a bad URL to RadioTime. -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86416 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radiotime problems
Yes, I'm aware of RadioTime presets. ;) Look at the link you provided, it says WebTuner, if you click on it it opens the RadioTime WebTuner (web player). Did you try as I suggested? I cannot get it to play if I'm connected to MySB.com, but it will play from SBS on my computer, it states it is a 192k MP3 file so it should play fine on MySB.com as well. As suggested, I'd report it to RadioTime, they may need to fix their URL databse. -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86416 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radiotime problems
Hello, sorry for the Radiotime thing..Anyhow the main issue remains, why will not this station play? If I log on to Shoutcast and search for this station will it find it and play. If I click on this link:http://radiotime.com/WebTuner.aspx?StationId=8965# will it play on my laptop, but not on my Boom. All other presets will play.
