It's just a login name. I'm not sure it has to even work as an email
address unless you need to reset your password. You shouldn't have to
change anything on the players.

Ok thats probably me having such simple and oldfashioned router
myself.
much of the never stuff have old kinds of " features " that does not
really help with such a thing like setting up the network, feature
overloading stuff is the modern way. Who want's " guest networks " and
" familly filters " in the router ?
it was probably the " auto " word that got me suspicius :) it may work
fine ( or not ).

There could be all kinds of propriotary settings in routers designed to
make " faster wifi " that only work well the same brand wifi adapter in
the pc etc :-/ .

The idea is to get it as vanilla as possible, one network ( 192.168.0.x
) same subnet etc one DHCP if such thing are present, if static ip's are
in use keep the dhcp range of those, and my personal favorite wire
everything that is stationary, keep the wifi for the mobile stuff.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Change in internet service

2011-10-09 Thread toby10

Should be pretty simple. Just update your email on MySB.com, then
delete players from MySB web UI. Next time your players log into MySB
you should be offered to change your account. Then it is just as you
did on the initial player setup.

Or, just don't update your MySB email info at all. The only real need
for having a "current" email on MySB is if you should need to reset
your password. Never lose your password and there is really no need to
even update your MySB email. :)

Yes, just go to your computers WiFi profile and change it your selected

[SlimDevices: Radio] Change in internet service

2011-10-09 Thread joesupra

I am considering changing my internet provider from Brighthouse to At&T
U-verse, which would mean getting a new e-mail address as well.
Considering how often there are issues with the logitech devices which
rely on the wifi connection I was wondering if anyone had been down
this road before? Is it a big deal when changing the e-mail address and
internet provider to get the various squeeze boxes and booms around the
house set up again. I hate to tamper with them when they are working.

AUTO WPA seems suspicius ?

WPA-AES or WPA-TKIP is it not what the duet supports ,WPA2-AES if
avaible.

the design is a bit old so , do not use some new and fancy modes .

it's a 801.11 G device so it is not N compitable so wireless must be
both G & N, by all means turn off B mode.

Do not use mac filtering it's useless, a thing many misses about the
duet is that it is two things a reciever and a controller so it is 2
mac adresses, so it's not uncommon to shut out one of them.

changing channels won't cause any issues. all your other stuff will
work without doing anything special. It is often best to use a channel
that is the least used channel nearby. You can see other nearby wifi
users and the channels they are using but using a simple, free program.
I'm on win7 and I use VISTUMBLER. Just google for it

Alternatively, it might be worth trying fixing WPA to AES - Auto
negotiation is not always 100% reliable, although for me it is working
perfectly. It might also be worth changing the LAN IP lease time - the
Superhub has a ridiculously short lease by default. I use 82800. Also,
try disabling the Superhub's firewall and IP flood detection, if you

Don't use channel 13 (any channel >11) with the Radio unless you patch
the Radio as described here:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17071

Although it works for some, it is definitely more trouble than its
worth and can lead, itself, to exactly the symptoms being described. In
fact, -make sure- your router is not on a channel >11 and is not on
auto, unless your Radio is patched!

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Lost wifi connection and unable to reconnect ?

2011-10-09 Thread toby10

Try some very basic WiFi tweaks (1-5 require admin access to your router
to try these simple changes) & simple troubleshooting:
1. use a unique SSID name (name of your network/router)
2. if using a G WiFi: set WiFi to G only (turns off a & b modes)
3. if using an N WiFi: set to G Compatibility mode (if using G
devices)
4. change the broadcast channel to the least used channel near you
5. choose only channels 1 or 6 or 11 (or 13 if available)
6. router and WiFi antenna orientation adjustments can help signal
strength
7. keep router away from other electronic devices (cordless phones,
ISP modem, computers)
8. reboot WiFi router every once in a while (once a month is usually
sufficient)

If your WiFi network card software already gives the ch numbers and the
signal strength of all nearby networks, that's all you need. But there
are free programs like NetStumbler if needed.

just this. red network icon, no connection. every morning. i dont use
the alarm so the alarm doesnt affect it, i have disabled upnp so that
has no affect either. every morning it is unable to work until i reset
the box. its driving me insane
