I have had this happen to me where the battery was constantly discharging (slowly) while supposedly on charge. Now I check for the charging beep when I plug in the charger. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Battery/charging behavior. Anyone else experiencing this?
If the Radio has been plugged in for many hours or days, and I then unplug it, it instantly turns off, or occasionally displays a low battery warning and shuts off a few seconds later. If I then plug it in (usually because I'm playing it) and leave it plugged in for a couple hours, the battery charges and is able to play on battery for several hours. Are you sure it's charging all the time? I've seen flaky behaviour with a connector coming loose, or a broken charger cable which needed specific positioning before it would actually charge... -- Michael ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Community Build Radio Firmware
One "feature" request for anyone working on this: My Radio often cuts out, most often due to interference from using a nearby microwave oven. The it instantly plays if I just hit the play button. Would be nice if it were more robust and capable of doing this on its own. I suspect the battery is on its last legs, but I also suspect the Radio's firmware is broken. Here's the behavior I'm seeing, pretty much every time now: If the Radio has been plugged in for many hours or days, and I then unplug it, it instantly turns off, or occasionally displays a low battery warning and shuts off a few seconds later. If I then plug it in (usually because I'm playing it) and leave it plugged in for a couple hours, the battery charges and is able to play on battery for several hours. I am willing to help with this project, seeing as I am suffering with 4 SBs, 2 UEs (all running 7.7.3 r16676), 2 pcs and 2 RPis, running squeezeplay. All 6 SBs lose connectivity within a few minutes. The one in the basement stays on longer. I have tried many things, routers, frequencies. I have about 50 devices on my LAN with now 3 APs. Plus Bluetooth phones and "speakers." I am about to turn them all off to see what happens. But the system needs to be robust with this environment. No other devices have issues. My test SB runs AR6000.ko 150911 with athwlan.bin 177073, calData_ar6102_15dBm.bin 768, data.patch.hw2_0.bin 836 and eeprom.AR6002 19454 (bytes instead of version #s). Inside, the chip is the Atheros AR6102G-BH2D 2011 week 31. wmiconfig reports the regulatory domain to be 0x60 or "WOR0_WORLD." This chip seems to be fairly capable. I guess that it is running in 6002 mode, whatever that is. My issue with the current driver/udchpc/supplicant combo is that it backs rates off too quickly, sometimes reverts to 169 autoconfig ip address, loses association, then just sits there forever until system reboot. I don't believe anything is unloading and reloading the driver, or restarting it somehow. I am going to try to find the serial port and monitor it. Perhaps I can restart the wlan using the shell. If that is possible, and if that does not result in disruption, or at least resumption of normal operation, that might be something. But of course the system should work without doing this. Have you tried fiddling with "wmiconfig?" There seem to be a few settings there that might be relevant. Also, if you are interested, I could post what I have done so far. A list of things to not bother with? Anyway, I am willing to test or develop, although I haven't done wifi before. And, is there a better forum or topic for this project?
