Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Upgrade SB Radio to UE Radio
Is the update from the Squeezebox Radio firmware to the UE Smart Radio on mysqueezebox.com still available? I do not see an option to install this firmware on my Squeezebox radio on this website. How can i install manually the UE Smart Radio Firmware on my squeezebox radio? firemouz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70330 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96256 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Wi-Fi 6
AFAIK. WiFi6 is a protocolit can work on on 2.4 GHz and/or 5 GHz bands. My router has option to turn Wifi 6 on/off on those two bands individually. But that did not make any difference in my XT8 mesh system. When I deleted the mesh the SB radios able to connect to the XT8 a little more reliably. They did connect even with the mesh on..but would disconnect after a few minutes. I guess you are experiencing the same thing.guessing "fast roaming" is the same thing as "smart connect". I also created a seperate SSID for 2.4 GHzthat is the way to go IMHO for all devicesfor example I have some iOT devices which are also 2.4 GHz only.with single SSID enabled for both bandsit was almost impossible for them to connect. Now I have no mesh, and no problems! I am not convinced that mesh is really needed. I recommend getting a single powerful router and placing it centrally..that is what I didbut I totally understand that for many folks ideal, central placement may not be possible. edwin2006 wrote: > As far as I know wifi6 combines frequencies from 1 to 6GHz. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Wi-Fi 6
As far as I know wifi6 combines frequencies from 1 to 6GHz. I don't think that a SB can work with that. They only operate at 2.4GHz. I'm using ubiquiti unifi stuff and created a single SSID at 2.4 just for the oldies because when I activated fast roaming to get voip working they were unable to connect. *SqueezeBoxes:* 1x Transporter (Living room) 1x SB2 (shed), 1x Radio (Kitchen), 1x Boom (Dining room), 1x piCorePlayer (jacuzzi), 1x piCorePlayer (Garden) 1x OSMC + Squeezelite (Movie room), 1x Touch (Study 2), few spare unit's *Server:* LMS on Pi3 7.9.1. on PcP 3.21 *Network:* AVM Fritzbox, Netgear Smart Switch 24p, 3x Ubiquity edwin2006's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66926 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112167 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio would not connect to LMS 8: "Update required"
So, I have been running LMS v8.1.2 for some time (and before that 8.1.1 etc) I performed the "Radio" patch quite a while ago and have been plagued with intermitant warnings that the Radio needs patching. Normally this would occur after either a LMS or Plugin update. Restarting LMS dismissed the warning. Today I became more than slightly irritated by yet another occurence. So I downgraded my Windows 10 LMS to v7.9.3. I reset the Radio to Factory Default, connect it to the LMS v7.9.3 and performed the patch routine. Swapped the Radio to LMS v8.1.2 running on a rpi4b and guess what / Correctomundo!!! 33132 GIve me strength!! ronnie +---+ |Filename: radio warning 4.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=33132| +---+ Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111938 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
