Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Simplified instructions for Squeezebox Radio Wi-Fi fix (wlanpoke)
Tony T wrote: > wlanpoke still not working for me. > FWIW, attached are the logs The logs are worth quite a lot, thanks. They show the script is exiting 2 seconds after the second full reset, the connection restored, and the log file entry completed perfectly. Then comes the ... wlanpoke 752 exiting... entry, which, regrettably, does not explain how or why. To help troubleshoot, I have taken my development Squeezebox and configured as close to yours as practical: reverted to 0.8.4.1 (the current main branch), enabled the original Atheros driver, connected to the office access point (-40 dBm), renamed the radio to X Radio 4, connected the serial port, killed the LMS server ncat, then, from the serial console, ran /etc/wlanpoke/wlanpoke.sh -x -W quick -d /etc/wlanpoke/log/ &, and pointed both Firefox and Chrome at the radio's web status page. Running the script from a console (serial or ssh) displays any additional messages not saved to the logs, e.g., the web page requests from Firefox and Chrome, and other error messages. I am hoping the system will fail and display an error message of some sort. I will report back later. I am playing a random 'song' mix from the server. If you are playing some external stream, I can try that too. At your end, you might re-try the previous suggestions from the ' 2021-09-17, 10:58 earlier post' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114775-Simplified-instructions-for-Squeezebox-Radio-Wi-Fi-fix-(wlanpoke)&p=1033533&viewfull=1#post1033533), plus the later suggestion of using ssh instead of the TTL serial port connection. If I don't find the problem, perhaps you will. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Upgrade SB Radio to UE Radio
I understand that the solution is to use an LMS server. But a PC with an LMS server running 24 hours a day only to listen to the radio for a few hours a day is not a very “green” solution. No need to run a PC. A Raspberry Pi will not consume much power (it can run off of a USB charger) and do the work for you. ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Upgrade SB Radio to UE Radio
I have a problem whose solution is perhaps to migrate to UE RADIO. Hardly any problem will be solved by this migration. SB sees much more development than UE. I've had my squeezebox for 10 years and mostly listen to internet radio and podcasts. For the past few months, several stations have stopped working. But if I listen to them with “tune in” on a PC, it works. the station still exist Maybe it's related to the squeezebox? Could someone who has already migrated to UE radio tell me if the French station "RMC" is working. Most likely these stations migrated to using https rather than http. Unfortunately the devices (neither UE nor SB) do support https. You'd have to run LMS and connect your Radio to LMS, which then would proxy the stream for you. This test would allow me to know if it works and therefore to migrate to “UE”. I looked into what I believe is the "RMC" station you mentioned. And it does indeed re-direct to an https URL. So no, UE won't help at all. ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Upgrade SB Radio to UE Radio
I just tried it on an SB2 attached to LMS and it worked fine. I cannot do it via TuneIn because I am in UK and TuneIn has hidden it along with hundreds (and perhaps thousands) of other stations. However, it works fine when selected via the RadioNet plugin. The stream URL works via https and http so it should work via LMS or via mysb. A direct URL you could try is http://audio.bfmtv.com/rmcradio_128.mp3 Paul Webster http://dabdig.blogspot.com author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, supla finland, abc australia, cbc/radio-canada and rte ireland Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96256 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
