You can edit/delete Favorites in LMS on the main page:

In recent releases of LMS you can edit/delete device presets in
"Settings":

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radios will not connect to (Verizon)Wi-Fi

2022-02-17 Thread Apesbrain

IIRC, there are features of the Verizon G3100 WIFI 6 gateway/modem that,
if disabled, allow the Radios to connect via wireless. Hopefully,
someone who has already dealt with this issue will reply with details.

You may find some hints in this thread:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112167-Wi-Fi-6

Workarounds you might consider:
- Connect the Radios via Powerline:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008F537KC/
- Use an external wireless adapter that has a modern feature set:

Update server to current LMS 8.2 beta. (See link below.) In LMS

I swapped the problem Radio above into another location in my home where
it would be wired and it is now online. That "good" radio I then
attempted to switch to wireless and it too is unable to find any
networks. I tried to manually enter my wireless credentials, but no
luck. Did a factory reset (Power and (+) button) and no improvement.
Evidence is starting to point toward the 8.0.1 firmware as the cause.

Is there an easy way to revert Radio to old firmware as a confirmation?

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Setting up an Additional Radio

2018-12-01 Thread Apesbrain

The first thing I'd do with a used Radio is a factory reset:
https://support.logitech.com/en_us/article/13945

Next, I'd reapply the latest firmware. Go into
Settings/Advanced/Applets and deselect "Reinstall after Firmware
Update". Then, you can get Radio firmware here:
http://update-origin.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.9.2/baby_7.7.3_r16676.bin

Download it to your Squeezebox "\server\firmware" folder and reboot
everything. Radio should detect new firmware or you can manually update
it via menus. Once everything is confirmed to work as expected, you can
apply applets if you want.

There is no "easy" way to copy settings from one Radio to another. It's
possible I'd guess if you SSH into the first Radio, copy the right
configuration files, and apply them via SSH to the second unit, but I'd
not call this easy and I don't know what files to copy.

I'd be cautious about building one unless you know what you are doing.
There is a temperature probe in there among the batteries that would
seem like something you want to be sure is working properly. Besides,
the most capacity I've seen on rechargeable batteries of this size is
2550 mAh which is only about 15% more than the 2200 used in the HQRP.

2014-06-17 Thread Apesbrain

I'm not an expert on usage of SoX but I think the contents of the
custom-convert.conf file would look something like this and the file
goes in the same folder on your server as your convert.conf file.

Code:

  mp3 flc * *
  [sox] -t mp3 $FILE$ -t flac - bass +6 250

  wma flc * *
  [sox] -t wma $FILE$ -t flac - bass +6 250

Set up this way it only affects MP3/WMA (e.g. radio streams). Play with
the boost (set at 6 in example above) and center frequency (set at
250Hz). If you want to have this change be specific only to that
player, switch out the second * with the MAC address of that unit.

You might like the 'SrvrPowerCtrl'

Optionally switch players to SqueezeNetwork when shutting
down/suspending/etc.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Shifting volume balance on sync'd Radio pair

2013-04-12 Thread Apesbrain

I have two Radios in my living room that are sync'd (volume also) as a
L/R pair. They are wired to my router. Often I notice that the
soundfield seems to drift between them, as if one suddenly is of a lower
volume than the other. After a few seconds/minutes, it self-corrects.
Sometimes this shift seems to impart a different tonal
character/equalization. When this happens, if I restart the track
things go back to normal but this seems to have no bearing on whether
the phenomenon happens again. This is a casual listening area so it's
not particularly bothersome; I'm just curious about what would cause
this behavior. Any ideas are welcome, thanks.

P.S. I live in an urban area with many neighboring wireless networks,
but my Radios are wired so I'd think that wouldn't be a factor. Could I
be wrong about that?

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Shifting volume balance on sync'd Radio pair

2013-04-12 Thread Apesbrain

Thanks pippin, so phase drift heard from a distance of about 3m would
sound like the image center had shifted and the tonal balance changed?
That's exactly what I hear. I typically listen from my own server, by
the way. Sounds like the situation -- so long as two devices are
involved -- is unavoidable.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] use squeezebox as a speaker for my pc with wlan?

2012-12-28 Thread Apesbrain

If you haven't already done so, you need to:

1. Install Logitech Media Server (LMS) on your PC
2. Point LMS at your existing music library folder and let it scan the
contents
3. Turn on any of your Squeezebox players and select My Music (or
Internet Radio or whatever).

If you want to have music playing on your PC in sync with your
Squeezeboxes, then install SqueezePlay on the PC and setup a sync
group.

All installers can be found here:
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.7

If you want your Squeezebox players to play back something else from
your PC, you may have success with the WaveInput plugin.

Yes, there are wireless cable solutions that operate over the wireless
phone frequencies (Aperion Audio makes one), but what is the point when
Squeezebox already was designed for this?

You probably won't need to change anything to have your Radio work. My
N router came out of the box set for compatibility with both N and G
devices like Squeezebox. If not, it's an easy setting to adjust in the
router management console.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Default Album Art image

2010-11-27 Thread Apesbrain

The default image is probably hard-coded in the Radio software and not
particularly easy for a novice (like you and me) to change. If your
Radio is stuck on the wrong artwork you can unplug it from the wall,
wait a minute, and plug it back in to reboot it. That's what I've done
when this happens and it typically clears the situation. Alternatively,
just press and hold the Power button until the Radio restarts. After
you reboot make sure you are running the latest firmware: Home
Settings Advanced Software Update.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Sometimes it just plain works...

2010-09-18 Thread Apesbrain

After tracking delivery of my new White Radio and accessory pack from
Logitech all day yesterday, it finally arrived and it is so cute! I
took it out of the box, plugged in the battery and it started right up.
It took seconds to get on my network and download a firmware update.
After a reboot it prompted me to login to mysqueezebox.com and my
favorites were there. Have been listening to My Music, Rhapsody and
local radio ever since with total joy. The freedom of battery power
completely changes the device, IMHO. Thank you Logitech for a great
product and a great offer!

Listening to it on the deck right now:
-May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith.
May your hope give us hope
May your love bring us love.-

[SlimDevices: Radio] How to change behavior of power button?

Is there a way to change what pushing the power button does

playing the last station again when power is pushed. Thanks if you

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio WIFI range is worse than Boom

2010-01-16 Thread Apesbrain

I don't mean to pile on, but my Radio reception is about the same as OP.
In the same room as the router (802.11g/WEP 128) it works fine. If I
move it a few rooms over, it won't connect. In the same spot my
wireless laptop has no problem. I am running the current firmware.

There's nothing remarkable in the Diagnostics screen except that the
Battery Temperature reports over 2047'C! Can you tell me what values
you are interested in? Thanks.

But again, read my post above: there is absolutely no need to do all
this unless you want to remotely control the Radio e.g. with iPeng, the
 Web Interface or the Controller.

My experience is that you need to manually switch back to MySB after
using SBS if you want to stop your server from starting whenever you
just want to listen to internet radio or online music services.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] How to Switch from SBS to MySB?

2009-11-18 Thread Apesbrain

Ideally this source switching would be done automatically and
transparently in the background. This distinction between MySB and SBS
is unnecessary and holds back adoption of the device by non-tech users,
e.g. my SO. Logic should be built into the Radio (and other SB devices)
that says if what I request to play is available on the internet, get
it there; if it requires the server, start it up and connect; if it
doesn't require the server, let it shut down. Fortunately, I subscribe
to Rhapsody which means I can pretty much just leave the Radio attached
to MySB and play anything. Unfortunately, many of the things I play are
already on my server in a higher quality format.

If I've just listened to my local server and now have switched to

[SlimDevices: Radio] Does Radio Support WOL to Server?

2009-11-15 Thread Apesbrain

Configured my new Radio today for MySqueezebox, but I'm not sure how to
get it to switch over to my local server. When I select My Music from
the home menu it gives me a message about downloading and installing
SBS. There doesn't seem to be any way to get past this message. The
server PC is in standby and I'm used to my SB3 sending a WOL packet when
I turn it on. I haven't figured out how to get the Radio to do the same
thing. Is the Radio not capable of waking up the server?
